Overall
Quiet, As Needed

Took my granddaughter on a date for dinner as she was hankering for some fish and Italian. She was amazed! She loved the food and it was not busy at the time so we were able to discuss issues in her life as she was needing special advice to cope as she had now "left home". David, the owner, was most cordial to us with his great food and atmosphere. Most definitely will return to explore more of that beautiful menu.

service

Tried the Blackened Catfish. It was great! The 2 times that me husband and I went, we had the same waitress named JESSICA... And she is AWESOME. This has become one of pour favorite spots after church on Sundays..

What rockfish wished they could be

Hands down the best seafood In the area. Fresh daily picks, great atmosphere, chefs that experiment with flavors and come up with unique dishes that are excellent. The owner came up to check on us twice. I definitely will be coming back.

I keep going back!

I am a fan of this great restaurant that used to be Rock Fish. The staff is so friendly and what impresses me is that almost everytime that I have been there, the Chef (David)? comes by our tables to ask how we are and how we like our food! One day, I was by myself, and he brought me a complimentary serving of their fabulous Sweet and Spicy Shrimp Cocktail - Very fresh!

Here are my favorites: Their Clam Chowder is the best I've tasted from all the restaurants around this area! It is creamy, not too thick, not too many potatoes and so fresh - we order it To-Go alot! My teenage daughter loves the Fried Shrimp - so crispy, but light including the Catfish! The baskets are good size portions. (Our grandkids like the kids menu - good price). When we let her, she orders the Steamed Crab Bucket! Very good served with new potatoes and corn. Their slaw is unusual - crisp, cold, with sweet/sour vinegar dressing - goes well with Fried fish or Po-Boys! I enjoy the Fried Oyster Po-Boy the most - So tender and have a delicate crispy batter and Oysters are not too big and the bun is very soft and fresh!

I usually choose a grilled fish - Rainbow Trout is my favorite! One of my most favorites is their "Champaigne Butter" It is so yummy - light buttery, lemony, with hint of wine! I dip the fresh steamed veggies as well as pour in over the fish! I always ask for an extra side of it! The Fried Fish is in a light, crispy batter - the basket is filled and the french fried potatoes are great, too. They have specials - the garlic mashed potatoes were delicious.

I look forward to dessert, if I have room in my tummy - and always ask for the delicious Bread Pudding with Bourbon Sauce served warm. We are going there today to celebrate our oldest daughter's birthday - can't wait, they finally have reopened the lunchtime hours - may try something new!!

The atmosphere is casual, yet so relaxing with the feeling of being on vacation at a very nice Fishing Lodge with beautiful stuffed fish and photos on the walls. I like to visit when it is cool, and sit by the rock fireplace. They have plenty of seating outside in a covered Patio where there are large log lounge chairs by an outdoor fireplace! They provide peanuts from a large barrel to munch on - but there isn't usually too long of a wait - except Friday and Saturday nights.

The reason I didn't rate it 5-star was due to their not serving fresh bread before the meal - but you can order some at a reasonable price - love the soft warm Po-Boy bread! They have spicy Hushpuppies, but a little too spicy for me and the one time I ordered them, they were a tad greasy. As I said, the wait staff is very friendly and efficient most of the time - never had an order brought wrong. We sometimes call in orders to take home - always packed well and food stays warm.
