The Plain Township Fire Department operates under the government of the township of Plain, Ohio, which also operates administrator, planning, road, sheriff, finance, and parks and recreation departments. The Plain Township Fire Department provides fire suppression, emergency medical, and water and rope rescue services. The department operates a fire prevention bureau that is a local enforcement agency to administer uniform fire codes of Ohio within the township. It conducts fire extinguisher training, child car seat inspections and juvenile fire-setter educational sessions. The Plain Township Fire Department employs firefighters, volunteers, technicians and paramedics. In addition, the department operates a communication center coordinates responses to fire, police and medical emergencies. It maintains a location in Canton, Ohio.
