Very professional and good prices. We've actually used them a couple times after storms and when we needed other trees cut. I've recommended them to friends and family as well and they were always happy with their services.

We really liked this company. BUT unfortunately, we spent months getting a quote and getting a date for them to remove two trees, trim a tree and remove some stumps. Finally had the date and they were a no show, no call. 3 weeks later never heard from them. We moved on to another company that was here within 2 weeks. This company never returns calls or updates the customer. We even gave them the opportunity to bow out if they felt they couldn't do the job. NOTHING, NO REPONSE AT ALL!!!!!! We had to do all the calling to reach them. We used to recommend this company to all our friends, NEVER AGAIN!

I have used Hollinger's Tree Service for tree trimming work on two occasions and am very satisfied with the quality and cost of their work. True, when they are very busy it can be challenging to coordinate the date that the work will be performed. On the most recent occasion, after a couple of storms and a tornado came through the area, I had to wait over a month for the work to be completed. However, every tree service in the area was working under the same constraints, so that is something I cannot pin on Hollinger's. It is just the nature of this type of work.

The job was simple: remove three pine trees, grind stumps, remove a live branch overhanging my garage, trim up some small, dead branches, and clear some brush accumulated from my own trimming.

With many attempts over the course of weeks to contact Hollinger once the job and price were agreed, it was increasingly difficult to get a hold of the business. Additionally, the workers would show up late, if at all. On top of that, after informing Mr. Hollinger that he would need to provide an updated copy of his WC certificate before moving forward (the one he provided before starting work expired the day after he began working and was unable to finish the job), he began to make excuses as to why the job could not be finished in a reasonable time frame. Now, 4 weeks from the point of contact, the job is half done. Mr. Hollinger informed me that he would check his PO Box the very next day for his WC certificate as he had not been there in weeks. Since he was supposed to come that morning to complete the work, I agreed. Needless to say, the certificate was not in his PO Box. He told me that his office worker would attempt to access it online through OhioBWC.com and that he would get back to me soon. Five hours later, I called him. Still no certificate. I informed Mr. Hollinger that he was not to complete the work as I do not believe he is carrying valid WC coverage and do not want him or his employees on my property. Mr. Hollinger then proceeded to show up at my house that evening while I was away and demand money from my fiance while she was home alone (funny how to collect money, he can make time for me). After more than one hour of arguing, he agreed to $250 for the minimal amount of work he completed and left.

This business is beyond unreputable. The scheduling is in shambles, the insurance is likely not up to par, professionalism has taken a backseat to laziness, and the rude and disrespectful nature by which he sought to collect his debt is by far the most troubling.

I would suggest that everyone stay away from Hollinger Tree Service.
