I would strongly advise against shopping at Gardner-White Canton. We have had one horrible experience after another. Their customer service is by far some of the worst I have experienced. We placed an order for two chairs that were in stock and a custom order for a sofa and two chairs. The first order for the in stock chairs was hours late. When I called to ask why it was so delayed, every person I spoke with said their system said it was supposed to be the later time and they didn't know why I would think otherwise. Well, I had the original message saved so I know what I was told when we were called. We waited for our custom order for the couch and two chairs. When the delivery men showed up, they only brought the couch. It was only at this point that we were informed that the chairs were backordered. I made two separate phone calls to figure out when we could expect to receive them and was told two different dates when they were supposed to arrive on the truck. Meanwhile, both dates passed with no chairs being delivered. It has now been nine weeks, well past the 6-8 week timeframe they gave us for a custom order. Since we already paid in full for our entire order, I am understandably frustrated. When I called to try and find out yet again where our chairs are at, instead of offering anything for their delay, I was asked why I have been nothing but difficult. Wow. Quite a fail on customer service. They have our money, but we have no chairs. We have been patient, but they have failed on meeting timelines repeatedly. Please, save yourself a huge headache and shop elsewhere. I am currently on hold for the store manager and I am told that it will be an hour wait before he can get to my issue.

Terrible sales persons and managers!!

Stay away from Gardner white !!



I bought a living room set, after couple of weeks item price has been reduced. As a VIP member I am suppose to get price matching within a month, but these guys told they couldn't do it. Sales person Syed and his manager Hunter are terrible. They are not doing price matching at all, even though I am eligible for that.



There are lot of good furniture stores out there other than Gardner white, I would highly recommend not to go to Gardner white at all.

Stay away from Gardner White. They are horrible in handling complaints of defective merchandise. We purchased a table, over $400.00, we moved to AZ and once there, noticed a large very visible defect in the tables finish. This was absolutely not due to the move, its clearly a manufacturers defect. Gardner White refuses to even meeting us half way with a resolution, they simply are saying "your loss, our gain' basicly. The table is extremely heavy and I am even willing to pay for shipping it back to Michigan if it means I could at least get half my money back for a table that clearly cannot be displayed in my home. Gardner Whites' one line response to my BBB complaint was "they don't have stores in Arizona and therefore a refund can not be given". Unbelievable, they simply unloaded a defective product and gained a profit.

AWFUL Customer Service

The store itself has great furniture at a wonderful price. However, if you are unlucky and get a defective product, like I did, than good luck. I live quite a distance from the store, and getting there is very difficult. I purchased a defective chair, and called to politely ask what could be done about it the same day I picked it up. The first person on the phone was very nice and helpful. However, upon the realization that I had a problem with the merchandise, I was immediately transferred to a manager. The manager demanded that I return the chair to the store immediately, which was not an option: I do have a life and obligations to keep. The manager was unsympathetic. He demanded I bring it in the next day, even though a winter storm was due to arrive overnight. After this continued for several minutes, I asked if there was any way that they could have somebody come pick up my defective chair and replace it with a new one. This apparently angered the manager and he became hostile. Although I'm certain HE would not be willing to take vacation time from HIS job to return the furniture were he in the same situation, he was adamant about me doing it. Upon hearing his belligerent response of "no," I gave in and said I would bring in the chair, but I asked if they would have a replacement chair waiting at the store so I don't have to make ANOTHER hour long round trip to pick up the chair again. He bitterly informed me that he could not have a replacement ready and that I would indeed have to make two additional trips if I wanted a defect-free chair; just what I needed, 3 trips made, 3 hours driving/work time lost, several gallons of gas, and any shred of dignity I may have had lost to get a single chair, not to mention the original cost of the chair itself! I would like to say that this is the worst I have ever been treated by any company not named American Airlines. The manager was a complete jerk and entirely insensitive to the customer's (my) situation. The store sells great products, and it is a shame that my experience had to be ruined so completely by an angry, bitter, insensitive manager. It doesn't matter how great the merchandise is, if a customer feels marginalized, they will not come back. I certainly won't. In the future, I would recommend that Gardner-White make an effort to improve their customer service. If I could remember the manager's name, I would recommend his firing, but alas, I can't remember it. I would also issue a warning to any potential customers of the Canton Gardner-White: The furniture is great and reasonably priced and you can get a great bargain, but they are insensitive to any problems you may have with the merchandise and will treat you like a second-class citizen (or worse) if you are unlucky enough to get a defective product.
