Blue Hill Montessori School

My daughter is in her second year at the Blue Hills Montessori school and we could not be happier with her overall progress and the school itself. The staff at BHMS are outstanding. Both lead teachers in the Pre K / Kindergarten programs are long tenured at the school. Which was important to me and my husband when making the decision on where to send out daughter. We wanted to gain the full early Montessori experience and have her attend the Pre K program as well as her Kindergarten year at the school, it was important for us to know that the staff has remained consistent with little turnover as we wanted her to be in a stable learning environment for those years. The connections that the teachers make with the children is wonderful. Our daughter looks forward to school each day and is excited to see what types of lessons / work she will have available to explore. One of the lead teachers at the school, Senora Christina, who happens to be my daughter’s lead teacher also incorporates Spanish into her daily lessons with the children. I love to hear my daughter happily count numbers in both English and Spanish. She is 4 and to hear her count from 1 to 20 in Spanish is pretty impressive to hear, of course she can count higher in English.



There are many choices available when looking for a preschool to send your child. At BHMS there is a real sense of community. The school holds community wide events and extended family is always welcome. The school encourages grandparents to visit and be involved with the children. My mother in law was delighted to be invited by the class to spend a day in the classroom and read one of her favorite stories to the children and my daughter was thrilled to have a special guest for the day. BHMS is run by a parent lead Board of Trustees, the parents are a real driving force behind the direction of the school. Everyone has the opportunity to be involved.
