Dental Examination
When doing a new patient exam, we take your insurance coverage into account, but generally the first visit consists of the following steps.
X-rays
Dr. Goch takes high quality panoramic X-rays when planning your treatment, and in some cases will have a CT scan done for even greater detail.

Teeth Cleaning
Our hygienists each have over 10 years of experience and are dedicated to helping you achieve optimal oral health. They provide gentle cleanings that are very thorough.
Dental Sealants
Sealants. Sealants are small plastic filings used to seal the cusps and grooves of the teeth. They are used to prevent cavities from developing or worsening. Sealants are able to last for many years if proper care is maintained.

Fillings
Resin Composite
Chips or rough spots. These often can be handled with dental bonding, which is the application of tooth-colored composite resin to repair a decayed, chipped, fractured or discolored tooth.
Veneers
A dental veneer is a thin facing made from porcelain that is bonded to the front of the tooth. These very natural-looking cosmetic restorations can completely transform your smile.

Deep Cleaning
Scaling and root planning, also known as deep cleaning, is the first step we take to treat moderate gum disease. Your hygienist will begin with the scaling process, gently and skillfully removing hardened dental plaque from your teeth.

Dentures
Dr. Mark Goch is very experienced in providing dentures for his patients. If you are considering getting dentures, you can schedule a consultation with Dr. Goch to go over your dental goals and talk about your options.

Dental Implants
A dental implant is a titanium post inserted into the jawbone to replace the root of a missing tooth. A porcelain restoration is attached to the post with a connector called an abutment.

Dr. Goch continues to hone his skills through post-graduate education, such as five-day, hands-on cosmetic dentistry training at the Nash Institute for Dental Learning.
General Dentistry
Dr. Goch has been trained in, and is experienced with, a wide range of general and cosmetic dental procedures. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree (DDS) from the University of Maryland College of Dentistry in 1992, and his AEGD (General Dentistry Residency) from Temple University College of Dentistry in 1993.
