Bahr Hardware was established in 1985 in the village of Eighty Four, PA, by co-owners Paul and Joyce Kahkonen. The idea was to be an "old fashioned" hardware store with a dedication to service and a commitment to continually stocking what the customer needs and wants. After 28 years in business, a move to Canonsburg, PA in 1990 and 2 additional moves within the boro to improve location and accessibility, Paul and Joyce still maintains their original intent while remaining independent and family operated. Unlike other hardware and "big-box" stores, Bahr has built a reputation on experience and knowledge which affords the customer reliable help to see any project or problem to completion. 96 years combined "hands-on" experience leaves little the staff has not been able to do. It has been said that the first signs of spring comes with the arrival of the flower and garden plants at Bahr Hardware. The store has earned a reputation for the best and hardiest hand-picked plants bought from the most renowned growers in the east. Flower season remains in bloom from the end of March to the 4th of July. Along with the plants and shrubs, Bahr stocks a wide array of garden sundries, soils, mulches, fertilizers, insecticides, and everything you need to keep your garden the talk of the town
