Humane Society Shelter House

I spent an hour waiting to be helped so I could possibly adopt a dog. Every cage was full of feces and the animals were being hosed down a power washer. I saw in the 'employees only' area several unused beds so all animals were sleeping on their own urine and filth. No one wanted to help me until a volunteer offered. She was then yelled at by the staff and treated worse than I was. I coucouldn't stand it anymore and drove all the way to Pueblo to adopt a better cared for dog at not only a cheaper price but a better atmosphere. Not to mention this place didnt even know the animals names, only numbers. If I wanted a poorly taken care of dog Id go to a puppy mill. UGH! While I was waiting I looked at the cats who were also in poor condition. 4 Cats in one small cage all with hurt eyes and covered in urine. I'm not fond of cats but they still should not be treated like that. I'm not surewhy they're still in business.
