Canandaigua Head Start is an early childhood education program for children aged three and four. Located in Canandaigua, N.Y., it provides services for children of low-income families, as well as with special needs and disabilities. The program provides educational needs for social, emotional, health and nutritional requirements. It recognizes the role of the family in child development and provides an opportunity to learn about the needs of their children and to be involved in program planning and policymaking. The program offers transportation, counseling, and occupational, physical and speech therapy services. It has a staff of skilled and professional psychologists, nurses and family service facilitators. Canandaigua Head Start is a program provided by Happiness House, which is a nonprofit health and human service agency that has been serving communities in the Finger Lakes region in New York.
