Chiropractic Adjustments
First let me say that I believe I received the most excellent care. Secondly, the time you took to answer my questions, laugh at my jokes and give health information for me and for my friends, has enhanced my state of well-being; not to mention the fact that the chiropractic adjustments with your hands are gentle enough not to cause discomfort, but firm enough to realign my spine. I feel that I have better posture now than I have had my entire life, and the pain associated with my injury is miraculously gone. I would highly recommend you to anyone.
Spinal Adjustments
Doctors of Chiropractic are well trained in detecting muscular problems as well as areas of joint dysfunction. Studies have shown movement is far superior to immobilization collars after an accident. Treatment will routinely include heat or ice, electric stim, rehabilitation exercises, home exercises and spinal adjustments as tolerated. Because many injuries involve damage to ligaments and tendons, healing takes time and can range from weeks to months.

What separates our office from other Chiropractic offices is the attention we give to muscle problems. Adjusting the spine may relieve a subluxation, and/or nerve root irritation, but it will not correct muscle spasm or stress you are under. The point here is that many muscles attach to the spine. If you just move the spine the tight muscles will pull everything out again.
Manipulation Therapy
It seems as if Doctors of Chiropractic have become known as back pain specialists. While it is true many patients first seek chiropractic care for back pain, and while it is also true many studies prove the effectiveness of chiropractic spinal manipulation for treating this condition, chiropractic is also capable of alleviating many other disorders. Some of the techniques we use are Diversified Adjusting, Gonstead, Activator, Cox Flexion-Distraction, Trigger Point Therapy/ART, Upper Cervical and Atlas Adjusting to name a few. I prefer not to be limited by focusing on one technique because every patient is different. Each person responds differently to treatment so I am always willing to vary my approach. Having multiple options and strategies to resolve a patient's condition provides a greater probability of success.

Disc Herniation Treatment
, 1996; Nov-Dec; 19(9): 597-606. Patients with MRI documented and symptomatic cervical and lumbar disc were treated with traction, flexion distraction, spinal manipulation, physiotherapy and exercises. Clinically, 80% had good outcomes and 63% revealed a reduced or completely resorbed disc herniation. Almost 80% were able to return to their regular jobs after care.
