We have been frequenting this restaurant for 10 years at least. My husband and I love everything about it! Then I introduced my parents. Look out! You would think they found this favorite of our families!!
Have been going to this restaurant several years, but tonight I got a taco and tamale. The tamale had some kind of meat in it, looked like chicken but tasted awful and the sause was spoiled or something. Asked my guest to try it and said the same thing. Asked the waiter to take it off the bill and said the Mgr had to. He came over to look at what we had ordered all 4 of us. Then walked away and came back and rudely asked what was wrong. Said it didn't taste good. He argued that all places make it different and there was nothing wrong with it and was not taking it off the bill. It was only $3 after all! I said well you are going to lose customers over it and he said he didn't care! Said we were going to call the owner and he said he was the owner! I said it wasn't about the money that the customer was always right and he said no they are not! Never ever going back and will write reviews on every site I can find! This was not the owner only a terrible mgr!
They screwed up one of our orders and just told us oh well. One waiter said oh well and walked away and the other waiter started off as a smart@$$ and then wouldn't do anything about the wrong order. Their encheladas are very small and are more like a snack. Then they told us there was no manager on duty and there was nothing they would do about any of it. I do not recommend this place to anyone.
Do NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone! The ervice and the attitude there is not good. I have been told that they do not care, I only work here! Also they charge 45 cents for a Lemon!!!!!!! Pass this on! There are many other restaurants nearby and they are much better and the price is the same or better!!!!
I agree , as they have gotten more successful the employees aren't as friendly and the food quality isn't as good.

Hello Everyone, I am one of the owner's of zapopan mexican restaurant and would like to respond to the review left by ashleewsmith. If you own your own business you know what I mean when I tell you that IF one of your employees are having a bad day ofcourse you will be aware of it quickly as soon as you begin conversation with them..everyone on earth has bad days...no one is perfect...we don't try to be either..we are very grateful for our customers and our employees, we thank GOD everyday for our success and praise him for it.If someone has had a bad experience in our business at anytime they should report it to Alex or I asap. we will be more than happy to resolve their problem at that time. And I would like to also add that if also one customer is having a bad day they TOO will let it be known as soon as conversation begins, and they take their anger and problems out on the business they are visiting as well. So you see it could go BOTH ways..either the waiter is having a bad day OR the customer you are waiting on is having a bad day...and neither one is really to blame ..it's just the way life is..NO ONE IS PERFECT..and I sincerely apologize to any one and everyone who might have had a bad experience in my business, I will be more than happy to correct any problem that they might encounter at any givin day or time for WITHOUT our customers WE would not be blessed with a successful business as we have been given. THANK YOU ALL for your time and patience and I appoligize once again for any inconvienence you may have encountered at my restaurant. And we would be blessed to have the honor of you visiting US once again with a happier experience and good food!!!

Be sure to try the cheese dip with your chips and salsa when you are seated, and try the cheese dip and salsa on your dinner, if you want! My teens love to pour the salsa and cheese dip on their burritos. My favorite dish, however, is the steak fajitas. It comes to you sizzling hot and has a flavor that is quite addictive! Don't forget to try the margaritas! They are good, and unlike chain restaurants, they don't play! It's a Mexican restaurant with a central Alabama feel!
The food is great, always has been, but they have gotten so successful they don't appreciate your business anymore and are short answered and down right rude at times.
The service is quick, the food is delicious, and the price is affordable. Some of the best tasting Mexican food I have tried. For me, some of their dishes are even better than Amigos in Hoover, and that's something.
the food is great and the employees are the same food is hot and your wait is not long and Alex is a really nice person keep up the great work.
This is a great neighborhood stop. They are always friendly and ready to serve the best Mexican food in town!!
Don't miss the Italian margaritas...AWESOME!
