Montessori of Malibu Canyon

MomcFrom talking to other parents I've come to know lots of issues. But this review is based on my family's experience and observations:1) Unfair treatment. Non-Persian children AND their family were NOT ALLOWED to participate in the Persian New Year celebration that took place during school hours on school playground. It was a BIG fancy event with rented tent, tables, chairs, balloons, food, etc. Only Persian child and their family are invited and no one else was informed of the event. With just window view of the party, Non-Persian CHILDREN were KEPT IN CLASS while their Persian classmates enjoyed the fancy party outside with their family. Really!?! What is this teaching our children? It is NOT OK to treat one group of race better than the rest. Everyone should be given equal opportunity to participate in school's event and celebrate the unique culture, especially those children who were present at school during that time.I am sadden by the fact that my daughter learned not to like her skin color. Not long after I hear my daughter's dislike of her skin color, a child (who happens to be Parsian) made a remark to another classmate of darker skin, that they can NOT play together because of their dark color. Coincidentally, this happened shortly after the Persian new year celebration.2) Not having enough snacks. I witnessed my child and 2 other kids asking for more crackers but was turned down because they "don't have enough for everyone." Additionally, this school claims to provide healthy snacks, but I have personally only seen crackers being handed out for both of my kid's classes and on the playground.3) Taking advantage of the graduation to force ppl into donating on their behalf by holding front row seats hostage to the highest bidder. And also auctioning kid's art work WITHOUT kid/parent's permission. I'm all for charity but I'm against being forced and taking advantage of. As parent of little children, we treasures our kid's art work and milestone such as graduation and that should not be exploited.4) The director/owner reveals personal information about other family. I distinctly remember the director telling about two families. One of which I happened to know...I was told that this family could not afford the tuition but that she was doing them a favor. The other one, I don't personally know the family but I was told of the child's name who had family/behavioral issue which involved social worker visiting the school. I highly recommend you take your time and do a lot of research. There are plenty of great schools in the area. Talk privately to other parents. We will greatly missed Mrs.Ruth. She always think of kid's best interest and tries hard to teach them the right thing even when it's tough.

This is our second year at Montessori of Malibu Canyon and we so happy here. We wish that they offered elementary school. Our daughter is so very happy here. She has done so well here. They are kind, sensitive and caring. Each one of the teachers and administrators truly love children and treat them each like family. They kids learn so much and so much fun. We love the school year program and their summer camp. We look forward to starting our little boy next year, but sad that our little girl will be moving on. Their language program, their academics, ARTS, pretty pretty campus, room to run and play, fun fun summer camp, warm loving teachers always with a smile, We love you MOMC!

My wife and I are both professionals and wanted a school that provided a good balance of education and social environment for our daughter. We researched many of the preschools in the area and ended up liking Montessori of Malibu Canyon more than all of the other schools. In our entire search MOMC is the only school that has a highly educated owner, who has studied in the field of education. The teachers are wonderful, all highly trained and loving. There is a great community among the parents in the school and everyone is very happy, which was another good indicator for us. We are very appreciative that such a loving environment exists for our daughter during the time we are at work.

Montessori of Malibu Canyon is a true gem! Dedicated kind teachers, passionate director, beautiful materials, small class sizes. My little man is sooo happy. They are all about individualized kind attention. Thank You for creating this amazing school. I feel so blessed to have my son In the care of the sweetest most caring ladies.

My wife and I cannot possibly say enough about how pleased we are about our choice. We could not have made a better choice. We moved our son to Montessori of Malibu Canyon last Fall and we are proud! He wakes up every morning with a smile and asks "School Today?". He comes home everyhis "daily report" telling us what fun and exciting things he did. He is having tons of fun and we are greatful that he is in a safe, clean and nurturing environment with smart, educated teachers who truly care about children. All four of our thumbs up to this school. We are from the East Coast and did not expect to find such a high caliber school out here! We can't wait to start our daughter next Fall.

My children both love this school! They are fallin in love with leaning and that's all we can ask for. The director shared a story about the magic of preachool and their commitment to making the school a magical place for the children and that's exactly what we see every day. We have a girl in the Dolphin two's class room and a boy in the Seal Room, the oldest group. The kids are having fun, learning, getting lots love, attention and nurture. The teachers are passionate and excited. One day you see them outside painting another day having a dance party and yet another having an adventure though Australia or having a visit by a petting zoo ( they actually have filed trips come to them!). This month alone they have had big celebration for Dr. Seuss's birthday, my son still can't stop talking about the "magical green eggs" they had--they ha a breakfast with dads, a grandparent cookies and milk evening and a book fair and hint for gold under the rainbow for St. Patty's day. The kids are always a excited about something. Rey are having so much fun, learning and so happy. Thank you Montessori of Malibu Canyon! We love you:C,D, M and A R.

Best Montessori school ever...its Montessori with a modern twist. The staff is the best and would recommend all to check out this school I am sure you will love it as much as I do.My daughter wakes up every morning so excited to go.

After touring several Montessori campuses in the West Valley, I was the most impressed with Montessori of Malibu Canyon. The campus is beautiful, with a large grassy playground and organic garden. The classrooms are immaculate and truly cater to the needs of the students (child size furniture, age appropriate toys/games/material). The staff are both caring and professional. I would highly recommend MOMC to anyone considering a Montessori preschool for their child(ren).

Incredible preschool! We are so impressed with everything about the school including the program, activities, teachers, and atmosphere. This school was built to give 2-6 year old's the best possible environment to learn and grow at this important developmental stage. The owner, teachers, and staff sincerely care about your children. We HIGHLY recommend this school!

The best preschool in the area by far. We have our third child, a four year old boy at Montessori of Malibu Canyon. He's been there since February and we absolutely LOVE it! He is excited about going to school, about learning and he adores his teachers. He is learning so much and we are thrilled to have such a great school in our community. Thank you for bringing such an amazing school. Our only regret is that they didn't open sooner. :)

An excellent resource for any child to begin strong for future endeavors, the place gives the resources that encourage strong and positive growth.

Wow! This is is amazing! My husband and I took our twins for a tour and we could not have never been more impressed! What a clean and beautiful place. We have visited many schools and none of them even come close. I wish I was a kid and could go here. The campus is so pretty, the classrooms are delightful, the teachers so sweet and the materials are spectacular! We can't wait for our kids to start. By far the cleanest preschool I've ever seen.

Wow what a school. They have thoguht of everything for teh children. Excelent teachers, great academic program and most importatn of all fun for the kids. We have our oldest attending the school adn she loves it. We will be enrolling our second child into the school as well.
