Golden Dawn Diner

I've been going to this diner for over 20 years. Within that time the food has gone from excellent to "so-so" to about average for diner's fare. The diner recently was taken over by new owners, which also own the Dynasty Diner in Delran, NJ. The Golden Dawn received a complete renovation and is kept extremely cleaner than when the past owners ran the diner. I also am glad when they passed the smoking ban in all restaurants, as I am an asthmatic. I no longer have to be sickened by the strong smell of cigarette smoke upon entering the diner. What I like most is the atmosphere of the newly renovated diner and that you get your money's worth. Lunch specials include soup, beverage and dessert all for one price.

As I like eating out and trying new diners, I pretty much know what to expect, however I was much disappointed with my first visit to The Golder Dawn, The smell of cigarettes was so strong it was nauseating, and when I ordered the food and found a hair in it, I lost my appetite, I didn't want to make a fuss, as I felt embarrassed pulling a long black hair out of my mouth, so I quietly paid the bill and left, that will be my last visit to this establishment. I wish it was better, we don't have many restaurants in this area and I have to travel to other cities to dine out.
