Established in 1947, the Burlington Volunteer Fire Department offers fire prevention, protection and education services. The department issues burn permits for various commercial and residential facilities. It offers emergency medical and advanced life support services. The Burlington Volunteer Fire Department works in partnerships with several transportation companies for mutual aid shuttle. The department also hosts sessions to discuss and address a variety of medical-related topics. It maintains a fleet of brush trucks, ambulances, engines and ladders. In addition, the Burlington Volunteer Fire Department maintains several rescue apparatus and tools for emergency extraction and rescue. The department provides home fire safety tips.
