Pretty Paws

I took my two Shih Tzu's in the Pretty Paws the first time and was very happy. Then I took them in for a second visit and had a completely different experience. First thing I noticed was my male Dogs right ear hair looked different than his left. After inspecting it further it turns out they cut almost all of the hair off of his right ear but left a few strands so that it would appear the same length as his left ear. Instead of being upfront and saying look we had a mishap and accidentally cut off his right ear hair they decided to try to cover it up and say nothing. As if I would not notice my Sons missing ear hair! later that evening I noticed my female was squinting and her eyes were watery. I took a closer look and notice a large white spot on her right eye. I took her to the Vet Monday morning and as it turns out both of her eyes were injured- The Vet said it could have been injuries resulting from abrasive soap, clippers or scissors. Needless to say I'm more than upset and am now stuck with a $300 vet bill I never would have had if I had choosen to take my Babies somewhere else. My Dogs are very well behaved and I have been told repeatedly by my previous groomers how well they act and how easy they are to groom.
After talking with a coworker who also lives in Burien I found out she had a similar experience. She took her two Dogs to Pretty Paws twice. The first visit was wonderful, great cuts, the Dogs seemed happy etc. She took them back for a second visit and the Dogs hair cuts were bad and they didnt even clip their toenails!

I will not be back to Pretty Paws ever again-
I would not recommend their services to anyone.

I have known Kathy for quite a while. I know a tragic thing happened with someones pet, and I would be very sick if it was my pet, but kathy has been a groomer for years. She would never intentionally hurt any pet!

For those that know this, please show your surport by giving your review on your good experience. Ive worked at Fred Meyers for 18 years, and people that know me, know I would never have anything to do with someone that hurts animals.

Kathy may come off a certain way to people, but she loves animals! I am a people and an animal whisperer. Please show your surport during this very difficult time, with positive reveiws. The family of Yoshi as well as Kathy are in our prayers! Thank you!

I just had my fur baby groomed there he looks great !!!!to some degree customer service is important. She did a fantastic job on my dog.I also asked to see around and they were glad to show me around, It was clean and neat. maybe she learned something from previous posts. When I arrived 2 other people either dropped off or pick up a beloved pet I asked them about what kind of service did you get both loved it same whrn I picked him up.

I worked a couple days in this place and did NOT like it at all!! I quit after a few days.

The lady Kathy is rude to the employes but when a costumer came in she was such a hypocrite and acted all nice. When the customer left Kathy and her co-worker would criticize the person. They put the dogs in a really small cage to dry with a blow dryer inside while they're panting, I felt bad because they seemed real thirsty. Even if you go inside you can notice that its not clean. They also have cats stay there for adoption but they rarely clean the litter box. Poor hygiene and poor customer service... How do you expect them to treat your pet with care? If they don't care about their business appearance. Please don't take your dog or cat there!!



Before i worked there i took my dog there and when i picked him up his eye was really red!! I'd rather take my dog to petco or petsmart there's a window there to see how they groom them.

DO NOT TAKE ANY ANIMALS YOU LOVE TO CATHY. No stars for this groomer what a filthy pit. i would never ever take my animal to cathy ever again she is horrible at her job and just a little different. My poor dog was shaved so close that his skin was scrapped off. My dogs neck and legs and back end were full of puss and oozing out. He ended up @ the vet had to stay the whole afternoon as the cleaned, dressed and gave him antibiotics, sterioids to control him scratching @ it. I ended up with a $260.00 bill @ the vet & out the $50.00 cathy charged and the $5.00 tip. She told me I seemed like a nice lady and put an extra stamp on my card. She then proceeded to tell me what a good cut she gave my dog and what a wonderful groomer she is. Vet told me the wounds were an infections caused by DULL & DIRTY BLADES...........I have called cathy she will not return my calls which makes a person very upset. What kind of dog person does that? She did tell me she has lost her own dog twice??? I only wanted the money back I gave her + the tip. Didn't ask for anything on the huge vet bill that she caused and she knows it. If she had any conscience she would offer something, but NO! BEWARE OF THIS GROOMER................................................

I had 3 dogs and 1 cat and this was about 8 years ago. 5 dogs never smelled good as a #### from other groomers

These people are very rude. I called to get some information and they lady that answered the phone has the WORST phone manners do not support this business.
