Burbank Community Development Department provides a wide range of services to maintain strong community ties, and for the development and economic vitality of housing, residential and commercial neighborhoods. It has various divisions, including building, planning, transportation, license and code services, and redevelopment, housing and economic development. Its license and code services division manages and oversees administration of programs that regulate businesses through licensing and permits, such as taxicab and firearm sales. It also regulates other businesses, such as massage establishments, and provides kennel and lottery licenses, including state lotteries and other gambling.
