Founded in 1977, Belmont Shelter Corporation is a nonprofit organization with a location in Buffalo, N.Y. The organization provides affordable housing for individuals, families, senior citizens and persons with disabilities in western New York. It offers a variety of housing-related programs and services that promote homeownership. Belmont Shelter Corporation also provides housing counseling and improves existing housing equity. The organization s Housing Resource Center, funded by a grant from Bank of America, offers listings of affordable rental units available in Erie and neighboring counties in New York. It serves various apartment seekers and landlords. Belmont Shelter Corporation provides prepurchase, post-purchase and rental counseling to promote tenant-landlord cooperation.
