Overall

Doesn't even deserve a full star. My elderly mother went to Dr. Cobb for cleanings, was told she needed 3 teeth removed (offered to do it right then, no antibiotics beforehand) & set up appt to have molds made for 2 partials. When the partials came in, they placed them in her mouth for her, with no instruction as to how to put them in/take them out. She noticed that not only were the 3 teeth removed on the partial, but also 2 wisdom teeth & a molar were made on the partial. She had those teeth removed over 20 yrs ago due to crowding & did not need them, nor was she told that they would be on the partials. She endured several days of excruciating pain before she went back to Dr. Cobb. She asked to have the extra teeth removed, saying that they caused her mouth to hurt & was told to wait a week or so, give her mouth a chance to heal, that, yes, the extra teeth could be removed but there might be a new charge. After spending $2000! I'm reporting Dr. Cobb to BBB, Atty Gen & ASDA. Quack dr.

Overall

I went to This Dentist to have upper and lower dentures made, the cost was very reasonable since I'm disabled and live on 733.00 a month, my local dentist pulled my teeth and placed the new ones in, all was so great had no problems except my smile was crooked. well around 3 - 4 months or so later I go to be realigned and was told I had 30 days from the date I bought them to be realigned free... Yep I was also informed it was in the contract I signed, yep I did not read it so my faught there because had I read or was told this. I would never had given him my business, now it's been over a year and I still can't find a dentist to correct the ill fitting dentures I have to replace poligrip 3 to 4 times daily so USE HIM IF YOU READ SMALL PRINT.. but he did say for 250.00 more he'll religned them for me.. so I'm seriously thinking of buying a blender for 19.99 at walmart

good experience - recommend

It's always tough to find a new dentist or doctor when you're new to an area... this is the 3rd state we've lived in since 2008! I picked Dr. Cobb from a list of Preferred Providers for our insurance co. and took a chance. I got in within a week for a pain issue that has been bothering me since I had work done by another dentist; and 3 of my college/hs age kids have since been in for cleanings. Dr. Cobb is very friendly (if you're one to be afraid of dentists) and his staff will make you feel at home. I was very happy with the service we rec'd there - too bad about the previous rating - sounds more like an insurance issue than a valid complaint for Dr. Cobb.

My husband went to see this denist in 5-08 for a check up on getting some dentures....well he went in on 6-6-08 and had the work done they told us after insurance paid we owed them 676.00 we paid in full..a month an a half later we are getting a phone call NOT A BILL sayin we owe another 450.00 that insurance did not cover...I called the insurance company and they tell me after they paid their part all we owed to the denist was 338.00...so they have already been over paid and now wanting more money that they cannot prove that we owe to them...I have turned them over to the attoney gentrals office and they are not handling the case for us....This denist office did the same thing to my cousin last year.

This is in response to sweetandassy, I examined her husband on 4-29-08 for dentures. He was wanting a sent of dentures-both upper and lower plates. I advised him his bottom teeth were fine and just needed a cleaning and I truthfully advised him he did not need a bottom denture. I did advise him the upper teeth were in need of removal and an upper denture placed. The patient had his lower teeth cleaned and then on 6-6-08 he returned for immediate dentures. As is policy in my office, prior to any work being performed an estimate is given to the patient to examine and sign in agreement. Also on the estimate there is a note that states "insurance coverage is only an estimate. Guarantor is responsible for all treatment not covered by insurance". The patient read and signed this agreement and dated it. A copy was placed in his file. The Patient, husband, paid his 'estimated' portion that day. On 7-24-08 an insurance explanation of benefits arrived at my office explaining all services were not covered and the patient stilll had a balance to be paid. As is policy in my office, the office manager called and discussed with the patient what was going on with their insurance. This is in hopes that the patient can call THEIR insurance and attempt to alleviate the problem. I do not have my office personnel send out a "bill" saying 'you owe me this money...now pay it." This is ludicrous...I require my office personnel to make a personal phone call to the patient and let them know what is going on with 'THEIR' insurance. Dental offices file insurance as a courtesy to the patient...it is not a requirement of the dental office. My office staff called repeatedly over the next three and one half months enduring hangups, phone disconnections and rudiness from the patient and his wife. In late September we received our first payment from the patient, $40.00 on a $452.74 that acruses interest monthly at 7%. The office manager did agree to deduct the interest owed and no further interest would be charged if the patient continued to pay regularly. Patient did make a total of 5--twenty dollar payments and has since stopped in mid December. Patient's wife was contacted and she said patient was 'supposed' to call the office and advise "his paycheck was being garnished from another company and when that garnishment was fulfilled in mid January her husband would start making payments. The office has not heard from the patient or his wife for the last three months.
