Pediatric Care
Are able to treat various eye diseases in addition to performing laser vision correction and laser skin resurfacing. We have, as members of our team, board certified and fellowship trained physicians in pediatrics and in the retina and vitreous conditions of the eye.
Primary Care
Neha Shah-Mehta received her Optometric degree at New England College of Optometry. She completed her post-graduate training at the Illinois Eye Institute in ocular disease and primary care. Dr. Shah-Mehta joined Rosenblum Eye Centers in 2005.
Emergency Care
Nadia Belous, O.D., provides comprehensive primary eye care with utilization of diagnostic and therapeutic drugs. She specializes in follow-up care for LASIK and glaucoma patients and does pre- and post cataract evaluations. She specializes in difficult contact lens fitting and in emergency care for various ocular problems.

Glaucoma
A family history. There is a four-fold risk of having glaucoma if a blood relative has had this condition. Afro-Americans have a 4-5 times higher incidence of glaucoma than do whites.
Ophthalmology
Ronald Schechter, M.D. specializes in pediatric ophthalmology. Dr. Schechter performs comprehensive eye examinations on infants and toddlers. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and has served with the United States Public Health Service.
Macular Degeneration
Dr. Naysan specializes in medical and surgical management of retinal diseases, including diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and retinal detachment. He also specializes in treating inflammatory and infectious eye diseases. Jonathan Naysan, M.D. was born in New York City, and grew up on Long Island.
Laser Eye Surgery
The latest method for correcting vision is LASIK, which stands for Laser-Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis. It is a surgical procedure by laser for treating nearsightedness (myopia), far-sightedness (hyperopia) and astigmatism. A fine scalpel is used to cut a flap in the cornea which is then folded back. The computer-guided laser is used to vaporize the underlying stroma layer. The flap is then replaced. Since the excimer laser does not generate heat, surrounding tissue is rarely affected.
Cataracts
Dr. Shah-Mehta co-manages post surgical, refractive and cataract patients as necessary. Dr. Shah-Mehta specializes in the fitting and management of Soft, Toric, Rigid Gas Permeable, Keratoconus and Scleral contact lenses.

Eye Exam
It's up to the parents to be on the lookout for symptoms of children's eye problems. Often children will not relate their problems directly but will give indirect clues. Difficulty in acquiring reading skills, decreased attention span, poor academic performance, and behavioral problems require an eye examination in search for a possible cause. Overt symptoms such as excessive rubbing of the eyes, squinting, complaints of headache or dizziness are signals for help. There can be no question that good vision and education go hand in hand.

Eyelid Surgery
Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) is designed to remove excess skin and muscle from the upper and lower eyelids. The procedure can correct drooping upper lids that tend to sag with time and the puffy bags below the eyes. The procedure usually takes about 45 minutes and can be performed in the office using local anesthesia. Stitches can be removed after three or four days.
