Artemis VESS is fully staffed 24/7 Veterinary Emergency Hospital. Our emergency and critical care service is always available when your pet becomes ill or experiences a life threatening emergency. Emergencies that require immediate attention: Difficulty / Labored breathing Abnormal gum color (blue, white or very pale) Collapse or inability to get up or move Bleeding Vomiting to include vomiting blood Blood in the feces or urine Diarrhea/Constipation Swollen / Bloated abdomen Suspected broken leg Lacerations/Bite wounds/Burns/other wounds Eye injuries Smoke Inhalation Motor Vehicle Accidents Attacks or bite wounds from other animals Seizures Straining to urinate Excessive salivation Excessive thirst (increased water intake) Ingestion of foreign objects Ingestion of toxins (chocolate, grapes/raisins, sugar-free gum, antifreeze, medication, etc) Labor that does not progress / difficulty giving birth Signs of pain such as whining or shaking Coughing/Wheezing or frequent panting Nasal discharge or congestion Weakness/Lethargy/Collapse or loss of consciousness Dizziness, imbalance, or circling Inability to walk / Lameness Body temperature over 103 or under 99 (normal is typically 99.5-102.5) Decreased/Poor Appetite Displays of pain/discomfort (such as crying when a specific area is touched or action is taken)
