Nichols John DC

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Nichols, his staff and the whole office environment. My daughter and I both receive treatment from him and we both look forward to every appointment. The staff is super friendly and when we go for our visits it feels like visiting with family.

Beware of the office practices of a Chiropractor named John D. Nichols in Lakewood Ranch. Make sure that you call your insurance company to verify that he accepts your insurance, because I believe that his office staff will say anything to get you to make an appointment.

I called before I went in to make sure that he accepted my insurance and I was lead to believe that they did. A staff member even took my insurance information over the phone and said that she would verify it for me. I went to the appointment.

Later, I received a bill for $300 from my insurance company and found out later that Nichols was not one of their providers.

I was charged $200 under a category named, "Office or Other Out Patient", then $55 for chiropractic manipulation, and then $45 for therapeutic procedure. The manipulation took no more than 15 minutes. The wait was about the same.

My co-payment was not even credited on the bill.

I am liable for the $300. I am filing a grievance with my insurance company against this practice. I can not understand why a medical practice would risk this kind of publicity over $200?
