Horrible experience. On our new home construction, the guy didn't pull the return hose out of the washer & stick it into the wall when hooking up the machine. Thus, water dumped out all over our (brand new) hardwood floors, causing $20k in damage. He had told us that we were all set to use the washer, but he then tried saying to the insurance company that he instructed us not to use it, because he "couldn't find" the drain hose on the back of the washing machine. I'm not sure which of the two is more embarrassing: a professional plumber forgetting to hook up a drain hose; or claiming to the insurance people that he couldn't find the hose on the back of a brand new machine.
