Teeth Cleaning
Fluoride Treatment
The complete procedure takes just over an hour. The procedure begins with a preparation period followed by one hour of bleaching. A five minute fluoride treatment completes the procedure (a cleaning is recommended prior to the actual Zoom! Whitening session).
Dental Sealants
The only caution we usually mention is that coffee, tea, and other staining foods and beverages may discolor your composites over time. Dr. Glerum places a clear plastic sealant over the filling to maintain its beautiful white shade longer.

Fillings
Resin Composite
If you’re embarrassed about your smile because of decay or dark fillings in your teeth, you may be a good candidate for composite resins. A silicon dioxide-filled, tooth-colored plastic mixture, composite resins can restore teeth to an attractive, healthy state. Composite resins represent several advantages over traditional silver, or amalgam, fillings.
Veneers
Veneers are very thin and are bonded on the front of your anterior teeth. These veneers are about 0.3mm to 0.5mm in thickness but are very strong once bonded to your teeth.
Crowns
Fabricating a bridge takes anywhere from two to multiple appointments, depending on the complexity of the treatment. Once inserted into the patient’s mouth, it does not involve months of healing time, and only a dentist can take it out. Bridges can be made from the same materials as crowns, using practically the same techniques.
Bridges
The rule of thumb is, use a fixed bridge whenever possible before deciding on a removable denture. It is more comfortable, will provide greater function for chewing, and is likely to survive over the long haul, if the supporting teeth remain healthy.

Root Canal Treatment
Constant clenching and grinding of the teeth cannot only cause the aforementioned symptoms, but it may also contribute to TMJ (temporomandibular joint) dysfunction, which has a long list of side effects associated with pain in the head and neck. Teeth rubbing together consistently will result in extreme wear over time, which will cause dental problems such as cracked teeth. Teeth may crack so severely that they may need root canal treatment or even extraction! Insomnia, eating disorders, and depression can result from bruxism left untreated.

Deep Cleaning

Dentures
A bridge is preferable to dentures, which over time can irritate and even damage gum tissues and the underlying bone.

Sometimes, adults lose teeth due to accident, injury, disease or extraction. In such cases, dental implants are considered a secure, functional replacement option because they do not rely on neighboring teeth for support.

Oral Surgery
Most full mouth reconstruction cases involve all teeth in the mouth, but every case is unique and depends on your clinical situation. The approximate cost (at a minimum) could be about $800 to $2,000 per tooth. That figure does not include any charges for oral surgery, crown lengthening, periodontal treatments, etc.
Tooth Extractions
Bone Grafting
If the jawbone is insufficient for such as procedure, a bone-grafting procedure can usually be done. Implants may also provide an anchor for bridgework. The implant process generally requires a couple of separate steps: “anchoring” and then “attachment”.

Orthodontics
Temporomandibular joints, jaw muscles and occlusion: A stable bite – one in which you are not in pain when you close your mouth or chew and one that does not cause wear or destruction of your teeth – is important to your overall oral health. Occlusal changes need to be taken into consideration when Dr. Glerum plans your restorations. In fact, you may require orthodontics or some other type of treatment (night guard or bite reprogramming orthotic) to correct occlusion before additional restorative procedures can be performed. Dr. Glerum has had extensive post-graduate training in bite abnormalities and is an expert at their diagnosis and treatment.
