Select Property Management

Home owners beware of using this company to manage your property. They promise high standards but do not deliver on these promises. I live out of state and received bills for property maintenance for several years. I always paid the bills even though they appeared rather inflated. I felt it was important to keep the property in good condition. After many years of using this company and paying for repairs and maintenance, when I decided to sell the property, I was shocked to find many of the issues I had been billed for had never been done/addressed by the company. I had to put money into repairs that I had already been billed for and I had to offer large credits to buyers for damages I was never informed of. The business relationship cost me greatly and I lost a large sum of money. When trying to work things out amicably, I was told to stop contacting them & they refused to answer my questions or provide documents. Just to let you know, talk is sweet when selling something but remember- buyer beware!

I rented from select last year and I just moved out in October of 2016. When I moved in I payed a deposit of $600 and they informed me the they had to get the downstairs carpet changed and would have someone contact me. It took over 2 months for anyone to contact me. So there's that. Then when I moved out they said I should get my deposit back in a couple weeks. I knew I wasn't getting my deposit back cuz nobody ever does but what I did get in the mail was a letter claiming I owe them an additional $1077 for additional damages and a list of damages. Which is rediculous! so I call and explain to them I can't pay all of it at the same time and they said I could make payments. When I go to make my first payment they told me I would have to pay a promissory agreement and that if I didn't it would be sent to collections. So I had an appointment and I forget so I get another call saying sense my mom was a consigner and the other person I moved in with that they would also have to sign said agreement. But that didn't make any sense so I told them I didn't have contact with the ther person on the lease anymore and my mother wasn't goin to so they told me that I no longer had a choice either I signed the agreement or they sent it the next Friday. That was a Monday. They gave me 5 days. Not to mention the personal questions they tried to ask me. I have still yet to get things sorted. Select is a con artist orginization and nobody should ever rent from them. This also happened to 2 friends I had that also rented from there. Bad review. Wish I could do 0

They do not deserve the one star that is on there. This is the most unorganized, unprofessional, unethical, most disrespectful bunch I have ever had to deal with.

You will regret leasing with this company. And you definitely do not want them to manage your home.

This company has some of the strangest policies I have ever heard of. After requesting a rental reference several times for a former resident that had moved out less than a year ago, they told me the record was in storage and that it would cost me $25 to get it!!! What? I have been in the business a long time, and in my many years I have never heard of anything like this. I could understand if it was someone who lived there several years ago, but less than a year? I asked if they could just look the records up in the computer and they told me they don't have computer records and that everything is done on paper. Is this not 2008? Do they not have the capability of updating to a more technology friendly system so that they would have the records stored in a computer and not a storage unit? It seems to make more sense to me, but I guess they are way behind in the times. Good luck renting from this company!

I rented from them for four years. I paid rent on time in full every month. Now that I have informed them I am moving, they are trying to milk me for every penny they can. They want to charge me a termanation fee which is $1200. What the hell? I have been off the lease for three years and have done nothing wrong. I am telling you they are total jerks, sure they are nice to you while you rent from them, but watch out when you try to move. I have even heard of them taking someone to court to replace the carpet. Seriously- STAY AWAY!!!

They lied to me telling me a police officer lived across the street so I would feel safe before I signed the lease. A officer NEVER lived across the street. LIER!!!!
