My husband and I just hired Diane Modica on Oct. 25th, 2013 because during our initial phone call she said that she would give us "clear steps on how to remedy our situation." She promised that she knew everything about this process, and when we met with her in the office she would tell us our options and advise on how to proceed. You can imagine how surprised we were when we paid her $250 for an hour consultation and she didn't provide us with 1 single option or ANY advice on how to proceed. She asked to give her some time to review our documents which we provided for her and that she "will get back to us." We waited several days until Oct 30th and didnt hear back about any progress involving our case. Naturally we got frustrated because our hearing was in a week! I didn't mention that we also paid her a $2000 as a retainer for our meeting with a promise that this was probably going to cover all of our expenses through the date of the hearing on Nov 12th, 2013.



On Oct. 30th I asked her to give me the invoice for our services up to this date and she gave me a $1000 bill stating that this was for conversations back and forth, meeting at her office, and another meeting she scheduled (this one completely unnecessary and cost us $250). Up to this point, Diane acted completely loopy, extremely unprofessional, she was very slow any and all of her actions, she also insulted us several occasions by telling us that she didn't like the signs on our house which had "Absolutely Nothing" to do with our case. It was very unprofessional of her and made us worry about the outcome of our case.



On Nov 1st I called her and told her that we decided to find another option to assist us with our case, because we did not receive clear feedback from her, we were not pleased with her progress at all, frustrated, and honestly didn't think she was knowledgeable enough about our case to handle it from this point going forward. We asked her to return our remaining $1000 back to us for the reasons stated above. Needless to say, she was very arrogant and displeased on the phone. She said that she'll come up with an invoice that will probably be over the $2000 retainer that she gave us. I said that she already provided us the invoice and she argued that this was "not the full amount for her services."



After the headache of dealing with DIane, we found an extremely knowledgeable lawyer who assisted us with our case and in less than 5 minutes of our meeting laid out the options and a clear action plan after which we attended the hearing which was fully successful. A week after our hearing, 2 weeks after we spoke with Diane last time by phone we received 2 pages of invoices from her and a check for a meager $125, which is a fraction of what she owed us back. I would never recommend her services to ANYONE as she was very hard to deal with and EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL.
