Founded in 1883, San Mar Children's Home is an orphanage approved by the Council on Accreditation for Children and Family Services. The organization is licensed as a child placement and adoption agency. It provides care to adolescent and preadolescent girls who are victims of abuse, molestation and general family dysfunction. The organization operates a wide variety of residential, educational and foster care treatment programs that include Edward and Pauline Anderson Transitional Living Home, and Dr. Henry F. and Florence Hill Graff Shelter. It also operates San Mar Treatment Foster Care, San Mar Adoption, San Mar School, and San Mar Group Home and Jack E. Barr Therapeutic Group Home. San Mar Children's Home is located in Boonsboro, Md.
