MLD is a very gentle manual treatment that improves the function of the lymphatic system throughout the body. In the 1930s the techniques of MLD were first introduced by Dr. Emil Vodder, PhD, MT from Denmark. MLD is becoming widely recognized in the United States as a treatment for many pathologies including post-surgical swelling, post traumatic edema (e.g., sports injuries), migraine headaches, rheumatoid arthritis, and fibromyalgia. MLD is further used to promote general relaxation and for cleansing (detoxification) of the skin and superficial fascia. In lymphedema therapy MLD is used to reroute the lymph flow around blocked areas into healthy lymph vessels, which drain into the venous circulation.

I’ve known and worked with the team at Blue Bell Physical Therapy for more than 3 years regarding three different issues. My recent exposure came as a result of a meniscus tear that led to arthroscopic surgery that failed. Dennis and his team worked with me throughout the whole experience and prepared me for total knee replacement. They are consummate professionals - Attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. Their therapeutic knowledge of techniques designed to alleviate and correct physical discomfort and put patients back on a path for normalcy is outstanding, and is what sets them apart from others. They built a program designed with my specific needs and goals in mind using a keen sense of restorative and kinetic understanding.

Megan Homoney attended Alvernia College and graduated with a PTA degree in 1995. Megan has 25 years of experience in outpatient and sports medicine physical therapy. Over the years she has worked with various patients including post-operative patients, cervical and low back injuries, rotator cuff, tendinitis, and adhesive capsulitis issues, neurological and balance deficits, plus many other orthopedic conditions. She gets great satisfaction knowing she can assist in her patients’ recovery. Outside of work, Megan enjoys the beach, outdoor activities, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Dennis Iaccarino, DPT, PT graduated from Plymouth White Marsh High School in 2005 where he played ice hockey and lacrosse all four years. Dennis then attended undergrad at Widener University from 2005- 2009 where he received a BA in Psychology. Dennis continued his education in Widener's graduate program for physical therapy where he received a doctorate in physical therapy in 2012. While attending grad school, Dennis received certification in PEDS/Special Education and attended classes that focused on manual therapy. Dennis began working with Nando at the Blue Bell office in 2012 and in 2016 became the sole provider at the new Spring House office where he still currently treats. In his spare time Dennis enjoys playing ice hockey as well as spending time with friends and family.
