Excellent Service!!! I took my wife’s car there to fix some fuel system issues after shopping around with some auto services around the area.

This place stands up to the best of your expectations, the professionalism, customer service and the knowledge sharing are outstanding.

The first time I took my wife’s car there I was impressed, Carlos aside then been a really pleasant and nice guy is a professional, the best trustworthy mechanic master I came to know.

I have serviced Nissan Sentra 2001, Honda Accord 2003 and JEEP GC 2014 and decided to take the time and share this with you guys.

Their level of service is excellent, small place with great people that you can trust.

Review - We are originally from MA on vacation in the area, when on the last day of our stay, our car shut down. Being out of state and having to check out of the hotel that same day, we had very limited options. We found Vega Baja by chance and we are so grateful for their attention and service. They accomodated our rush request and worked diligently to find what was wrong with the car. Best service ever - so rare these days to find a great car shop with honest and friendly people. If I lived in the area, I would keep going back there.

Review - I went to Vega Baja because of what i had read on kannekt and the reviews could not have been more accurate. I have never had a more trustworthy, communicative and fairly priced mechanic in my life and I have had good friends that are mechanics. As well as their professionalism they are just kind and friendly people.

Review - best mechanic ever. They are the most reasonable and honest mechanics i ever met. very good customer service. I would recommend vega baja highly. They are very thorough in explaining the problem. I went to them with a check engine problem and they diagnosed the problem clearly for a very reasonable price. My car needed some re-programming and they drove the car to the dealer to fix it at no extra cost. 5 stars to vega baja

Review - i needed to get my brakes done, so I dropped my car off at Dave's to get a quote. The service guy told me it would cost close to $600, but wouldn't give me any details about what was wrong. Then tried to hit me up with a diagnostic fee, which they did not disclose up front. I then went to Vega to get a second opinion. They explained and actually showed me what was wrong. Their final cost came in almost $150 cheaper. Would go there again. Norma was very nice and seemed honest.

Review - Honest folks. Reasonable prices.

Review - Honest folks work at the Vega Baja. Two years ago, I went to them in a state of hysteria, thinking that something was really really wrong with my car and I would have to spend a thousand dollars to get it fixed. After hearing me out, the owner/mechanic calmly said, Just let me take a look. He did and then came back to assure me that it was just a small leak, and the cost of fixing it was something like $30. A garage where they actually try to save you money! (Usually, you show up with a whiper blade malfunction, and the mechanic would try to get you to rebuild the engine... Not here.) It has been my car care center ever since.

Took my car here for work. After spending $1000+ the car was in worse shape than when it was brought in. They said their initial diagnosis was wrong, I needed to spend many thousands more for additional parts and labor.

I took the car from them, and another mechanic showed me that they LIED and did NOT change the parts they said they did, original, old, 100,000+ mile parts were still installed. Basically they straight-up robbed me. I should have called a lawyer.

I really should have known better. I took the car to them once before, and they misquoted a price for an oil change (how do you misquote a price for something so basic and simple as an oil change?)...when I showed up to get the car they tried to get me to pay double. I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN THEY WERE DISHONEST.

My '87 Silverado pick-up truck wouldn't start. I picked Vega Baja after reading online reviews. The only negative review seemed to be focused on the fact Spanish was spoken. The AAA tow truck driver said Vega Baja was O.K.; but he preferred another nearby repair shop slightly more. I was less than impressed seeing this small garage . They were very accommodating. My vehicle is an old 1987 clunker which i only drive to Shoprite & Walmart. I've had it since 1989 & have been waiting for it to die for several years. 5 miles per gallon in the city & my fear of taking it out on longer trips keeps my mileage to an unbelievable 250-500 miles annually. I just keep it year to year so I have access to a vehicle. I expected my timing/ignition problem would make repairing it impractical. Fortunately, an older vehicle like mine doesn't have the expensive computer-timing set-ups found in later cars & trucks. I knew I needed to have a headlight replaced. Last time round, at a "certified" Chevy repair center on Rte 440 (now closed-for good reason) I'd paid $100 for just that. Despite it's age, my truck only has 54,000 miles on it. Age is it's greatest enemy, not mileage. Full disclosure. I'm writing from memory since this all happened over a year ago. They gave me a surprisingly inexpensive estimate of around $200 & said they'd see what the problem was with the headlights. I was sure I'd replaced the burned out one just a year earlier. The young mechanic, who built/rebuilt sportscars, fell into casual conversation. It may or may not have been a "sales pitch" but he assured me the 1987 Chevy Silverado was one of those vehicles that would "not die" & were fairly simple to repair...that he knew a couple friends in PR who owned the same year and model. It was his obvious passion for his work, auto repair, which impressed me the most. After examining the truck, they said I was mistaken about which headlight had been replaced. I needed a new headlight & to replace some corroded connections...all of which cost me less than the price I'd been charged for a headlight alone at the other place. I was very pleased with their work & found their charges surprisingly reasonable. I resolved to write this review at the time but went home & failed to do it. A few months later, my vehicle failed inspection because the transmission gear-shifting was "loose". I was sure, this WAS the end. Vega Baja told me they didn't do that kind of work but referred me to someone they considered good for such work in Bayonne. I went there & was amazed to discover after something like a $30 inspection fee that I simply needed the gears tightened--which brought the total cost to something like $129. I'm shopping for a new used vehicle & I'll trust Vega Baja with it.

EXTREMELY GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE

I JUST HAD MY 2000 CHEVY SUBURBAN IN FOR A PROBLEM WITH MY HEATER. THE YOUNG MECHANICS ON DUTY WHERE VERY POLITE AND QUICK TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM WITH MY VEHICLE. IT TURNED OUT THAT THE HEATER CORE WAS BAD AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THEY EXPLAINED IN FULL DETAIL WHY AND HOW THIS HAPPENS. I WAS THEN GIVEN A VERY RESONABLE PRICE ON THE WORK. IT TOOK ABOUT A DAY OR TWO AND ABOUT HALF WAY THRU THE JOB THEY CALLED ME IN TO SEE THE WORK THAT WAS BEING DONE. I AM HAPPY TO SAY THAT MY HEAT IS WORKING AS IF NOTHING HAD EVERY HAPPENED. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS SHOP OVER ANY OTHER THAT I HAVE BEEN TO IN MY RECENT YEARS!!!!

Steer clear of this business!!!

I do not recommend this place at all. I was having issues with my car and the new part they put in was installed incorrectly, causing more and worse damage than before. A different mechanic told me that the work was done all wrong and charged 1/4th the price of what this place would have charged. They were charging outrageous prices and offering all type of "snake-oil" solutions for simple problems. The prices for service are beyond outrageous. Typical snake in the grass mechanics, please do yourself a favor and drive past this place quickly, you will get a better deal going to your dealership. Amateur work for super high prices.
