GMC Cars and Service

The Service department does excellent work at Le Valley. I recently went in to have my vehicle serviced. They went above and beyond by finding some sensors that were not working properly and corrected the issue. I recommend this company to everyone I know.

They had my truck for 4 days and only made a couple repairs to it. I called several times to get a solid time that they'd be finished with it and kept feeling like I'm getting the run-around. The service tech supervisor was friendly but I just couldn't get any real idea of completion of repair. He also told me that there would be an engine diagnostic charge of $149 to which I replied that this was warranty repair. He said "let me see what I can do about that". There ended up being no charge. I did wonder if this was how GM conducted their business. I give that a huge "ZERO"!

Was told car needed transmission work or a new trans. Mechanic couldn't say which without costly labor nor could he counsel the best course of action. The GMC Terrain only has 41,000 miles (6 yrs old) and the transmission dies??? I always had the fluid levels checked at oil changes. Very poor quality. Was told it would be $7,000 to put a new one in. Called another shop that would do it for $5,000. Told the dealer and they only lowered the price after hearing they were overcharging us. Purchased the car used at this dealership and got no love. Also had to replace a computer chip for $600 last year yet some problems persist. I was sold a total lemon.

I came in for the 40k service on my truck, I thought 4-wheel alignment was included in the price, gave service the go ahead. When I picked up my truck there was additional charge for the alignment. I paid the bill but I don't think what was included in the service package was communicated clearly.

Brake Inspection
During an oil change, I specifically requested a brake inspection. When I got home, I reviewed my receipt, I couldn’t find any information on my vehicles brakes. Luckily two days later I was taking another vehicle in for an oil change and asked about the brake inspection and the service liaison printed it and gave it to me. He did explain how to read the results. Otherwise I was treated great and made use of the free shuttle.
