Family Dentistry of Bellevue

My dental hygienist took exactly seven minutes to "clean" my entire mouth. She started with a polish by simply putting the paste on my teeth and then washing it off - there was no actual polishing done. Then she "flossed" my teeth by jabbing down on my gums and ripping upwards sharply, so sharply my head jostled each and every time. She did not move the floss around at all in between my gums and, the most disgusting part of the experience, she didn't rotate the floss. This hygienist used the same two inch span of floss to floss my whole mouth. As for the dentist herself, she was rude and inconsiderate. She chose to use a bright, unfiltered flashlight attached to her glasses like a headlamp. However, she offered no eye protective ware to me, the patient, so that each time she looked at me to ask a a question, a painfully bright beam of light would hit my eyes. Additionally, she openly mocked my trepidation for having cavities, by laughing at me and to the hygienist. I walked away from this appointment feeling worse than when I had gone in. As someone who loves the dentist, this was a first for me. For $264, I left without that smooth, sparkly feeling my teeth are used to after a dentist appointment (of course, how clean could they have gotten after just seven minutes of cleaning?), a horrible headache from all the jostling, and literal spots in my eyes from the dentist's headlamp. I must mention, the reception staff are friendly and helpful, however they do not make up for the deplorable conditions of the dentist and the hygienist I saw. Since writing this, I have switched dentist to another, more highly rated in town and when I called the office to have my x-rays forwarded and my future appointments cancelled, they showed zero care that they were losing a client and offered zero reconciliation for their grave misconduct. I highly recommend avoiding Family Dentistry of Bellevue.
