Alfredo Claudio Gueler, MD

Dr. Gueler treated my mother at the end of her life.She was not very easy along with but with great patience he was able to give her excellent care and maintain her dignity even though that's often sacrificed at the end of life. Dr. Gueler has an excellent reputation in used in community and went above and beyond his duty as a physician to help make my mother comfortable and extend her life. There are not many physicians in this day and age who would do what Dr. Geller did for a patient like my mother.Our whole family a great debt of gratitude to Dr. Geller.

I am amazed that this doctor and his nurse, as well as his staff, have not been voted as one of "Houston's Best Doctors" unless it is because they are such a small practice. I found them through my insurance company and feel like it was the best thing that could have happened to me. I got in within 2 days of calling for my first appointment. That alone is unique. They front office staff was pleasant and helpful. The nurse Diana was a delight. She was funny but professional and made me feel as though I had been a patient for years. Dr. Gueler came in and within 5 minutes I felt as though I had known him for years. The staff had warned me that I would be there for about 1 1/2 hours due to the amount of time he spend with his patients and they were not kidding. I waited about 10 minutes after I filled out the paperwork and then went to the back with the MA for vital signs. Diana then came in and got a "complete" history on me, all the while smiling and joking making me feel at ease. Dr. Gueler came in within 7 or 8 minutes of her leaving and then it was let the games begin.........he asked more questions than a divorce lawyer and answer as many questions from me. He told me more about my heart disease than my previous PCP and my cardiologist put together. Diana then gave me a ton of education material to read and followed up with a call 3 weeks later to check on me.

This is a "FIRST RATE" doctor, nurse and medical staff that goes above and beyond what is expected or anticipated from ANY doctor. They will even stay late at night or come in on the week-end if it is urgent. No answering service at this office, you get to speak to the nurse. Just don't abuse the privledge.

Dr. Gueler is the best doctor I have known, I do not know of any doctor spending about 1 hour with the patients. He takes the time to do a patient history and physical,as well as explaning any questions that the patient has. And as his office staff their great.His nurse Diana is great is a helpful and loving person,and their is no other nurse or doctor that care so much about their patients.

Dr. Gueler's practice is definitely the best one around. He is amazingly compassionate, thorough, knowledgable and treats every single patient with utmost respect. I've been to many different doctors in and around the Houston area and have never been treated as well as I have by Dr. Gueler, Diana Fadrique and staff. I actually could not even imagine going anywhere else. Dr. Gueler and Diana have done so much for me, and I honestly don't know where I would be without the two of them. He is not just my doctor, and she is not just my nurse... They are like family. They seriously care about their patients, which isn't easy to find.

I had the great luck, shortly after arriving in Houston in 2003, to come across Dr. Gueler and his nurse Diana. Since then, they have been the only doctors that my wife and I will use. I have followed him from his move from Katy to downtown Houston, and even though the drive is much further now than it was before, continue to visit his offices, as does my wife. His bedside manner is extremely professional, his knowledge across a very broad spectrum is unsurpassed, and his dedication to his work is unparalleled. Both he and Diana have helped me and my family out on numerous occasions and through numerous medical crises.



Again, thank you Dr. Gueler, Diana and your wonderful staff, and please keep up the good work. Don't know what we would do without you.

Despite what was written below, this is one of best doctor's offices in Houston. This is a very small practice and not a "get them in and get them out" kind of practice like some of them are. Dr. Gueler spends a great deal of time with all of his patients. On the first visit you can plan on being with him for an hour, or longer, as he gets a whole history and not just "why are you here today". His nurse, Diana will come in first and just get a basic history before he comes in. If you can call it basic. She cares and will actually hold your hand if you are down or give you her cell number if you are in crisis and she thinks you may need a shoulder to cry on over the week-end. They don't even have an answering service because Dr. Gueler has Diana answer on the week-ends and at night. If she can't answer your questions or help you, she calls him right away. Dr. Gueler has patients from as far as Katy, Baytown, Beaumont and Galveston that come to him because of the excellent care and compassion of Dr. Gueler, Diana and all of the office staff. This man and his staff care like no other. They came in on a Saturday evening for me because I did not have the money to go to the ER. This is what medicine is supposed to be about.

The person who wrote that vicious statement has agenda that has nothing to do with good medical care at all and seems to be more about a personal issue. get a life and stop hurting those that are only trying to help!

I just read two very spiteful reviews posted under two different IDs, but which are obviously from the same person, about an excellent physician. When I see a review like this, I think of three possible things:



1. Someone who is not a patient, but who has a personal grievance with the physician, will set out to pose as the physician's patient to satisfy a personal need to tear the physician down.



Or, if indeed a patient,



2. The physician refused to give the patient his/her drug of choice or a drug the patient demanded, almost invariably a narcotic.



3. The patient expected to be given something that she/he wanted (usually because they read about it online or heard from someone else) but which was not in his/her best medical interest or which was medically unnecessary.



And when this kind of patient doesn't get what he/she wants, and if they are vindictive enough, they will go after the physician to malign him as much as possible. In this Internet age where anyone with access to a computer can write any malicious, defamatory, unjust, blatantly false thing they desire, every person becomes an easy target. Physicians are especially vulnerable.



Dr. Gueler practices the highest standard of medicine and Ms. Fadrique practices the highest level of nursing. This means being able to say "no" as much being able to say "yes" to what a patient expects. Dr. Gueler does not practice convenience store medicine, where anyone can just walk in and think they can order something up and get it on demand. Those medical practices certainly exist, and if patients like this - because just as there are bad doctors, there are bad patients - want that kind of doctor, it shouldn't be hard to find. All they have to do is try to intimidate the physician into submission. Fortunately, Dr. Gueler is among the honest and skilled physicians who practice the right kind of medicine and doesn't cave to fear or threats.



I feel deeply sorry for Dr. Gueler, because I know how much he cares for his patients and I know the kind of physician he is. For the reviewer who wanted to hurt Dr. Gueler with their review, I think you can feel victorious in your attempt, but not because Dr. Gueler did anything wrong, but because he is human and has emotions and just plain cares. You, the reviewer who set out to wound Dr. Gueler, actually ended up hurting yourself, because you denied yourself the care of an outstanding physician in your wrath. I'm sure you will find a mediocre or subpar physician to do your bidding. And, hopefully, you will never encounter someone like yourself who would post an online libel about you in the process. Karma always rules out in the end.



I, for one, am a patient who is grateful for Dr. Gueler in my life. And I am grateful for Diana Fadrique for being a nurse I can rely on to do right by me. I appreciate it when you tell me I shouldn't be doing something. I appreciate that you correct my false assumptions. I appreciate it when you tell me what I ought to be doing with my health, even when I don't like hearing it. Please try to remember the hundreds upon hundreds of other patients who owe their health and physical well-being to you, who don't go online to post the good reviews.
