I had a bad experience at Ava's today. I ordered a 16 oz. Americana with half decaf. I paid and left my usual $1.00 tip and left briefly to place my book bag on a table. It only took a second to do this but when I turned around I saw the person I had given my order to pour a 16oz cup out of the urn that is used for regular coffee. In effect, I was served a regular coffee, not a custom made Americana, for the price of an Americana. I feel cheated and am a little angry about the experience. I leave a generous tip because I respect people who work in this kind of service and know that, like all of us in these hard times, need every bit of help they can get. I have a tremor and have learned from experience that if I drink over one shot of caffeinated coffee a day, I won't sleep that night. This is a small matter, but I feel betrayed.

Provided by SuperpagesHow do I describe the perfect coffee experience? For me, it is when the coffee shop captures the right blend of coffee and provides the perfect environment for their customers.

If you are looking for a pretty nice place inside or out to meet, read, or study, this could be a good place. Open 24 hours still I think. Coffee can be above average but not great. Food options are good. Baristas still serve as cashier half the time, so lattes can be rushed which is not good. Appreciate they have tried to provide a nice place for people to meet and hang. If you are in a hurry for a cup to go, not your place.

Provided by SuperpagesAva's has only been open a month, but it's already changing the face of coffee in downtown Beaverton. Charming setting, comfy sofas and tables inside the spacious interior, gorgeous stone patio outside with flowing "creek" and fresh flowers surrounding the plentiful seating areas. Delicious coffee and pastries, incredibly friendly service, and free wi-fi. Who could ask for more? My new "office-away-from-home"!

Provided by SuperpagesThe pastries are amazing. Staff was very friendly and coffee was great. Much better than the coffee served at Charbucks!

Provided by SuperpagesNice environment but extremely slow service, inexperienced baristas...baristas more interested in being on break than helping customers. They got orders wrong and even overcharged for products. Live music was enjoyable. Might be back but not for coffee or service.
