Sunshine Washateria

Years ago a couple nice ladies named Marie and Veronica worked there. There is a nice woman....don't know her name...works mostly at night, who greets you when you come in and even holds the door open for you if you have a heavy load. I have not seen her recently. I have had experience in the past year with using this facility. No problems until recently. A few months ago I stopped by because my washer quit working and this place was down the road. I used one of the washers and when I got them out, EVERYTHING was covered in sand!!! I told the attendant and she refunded my money and was so nice and gracious about it. I washed in another washer. The next time I needed to wash, which was about a week later, I used this place again. Different lady....different washer. This time the strong smell of melted crayons inside the washer turned me off. I went down the street to another washateria. The lady was kind of rude the last time. I won't be back.

This washateria has recently come under new ownership. It used to be called EZY, which we frequented for years with great satisfaction. The former owner and her employees did a fantastic job and were very friendly and helpful. However, I have not had the same success under the new ownership.



I got back a batch of clothes yesterday that were obviously not washed. A wash cloth was still hard as it had been when dropped off. A T-shirt still smelled musty and was covered in my cats' hair - all of the clothes and towels had hair on them and did not smell or feel as if they had been laundered. It was quite a striking contrast to the condition of all previous laundry we had picked up after being laundered there under the previous owners. I did call and complained about the condition of our clothes, but they absolutely stuck to their guns that they had washed the clothes - and even tried to tell me how clothes are washed and that hair won't come off and that washing a towel won't make it softer (once it has become hard from being stored wet, as ours had been). Riiight.... It was in that conversation that I learned the place is under new ownership and management. That in itself explained a lot. I initially saw new employees, of course, but didn't think anything of that at first as there was no reason to be concerned. Boy was I wrong.



So, drop-off washer beware. What you drop off may be exactly what you pick up: dirty clothes! This is definitely not a trusted facility for us anymore.
