I had Mr. Baumer install a high efficiency furnace for me and he did an excellent job. He was able to obtain a furnace very quickly at a reasonable price. The furnace he installed has operated flawlessly for the past ten years and has easily saved me enough money on heating bills to pay for the furnace. A few years after he installed the furnace my air conditioning condensor went out, Mr. Baumer was able to obtain one the same day and install it.
After moving into a new house recently we had Mr. Baumer install another high efficiency furnace with A/C in a home that only had hot water heating, he was able to design a system of ductwork to accommodate this while keeping the hot water as a backup.
We have recommended Mr. Baumer to several people we know and have never heard any complaints.
Last but not least Mr. Baumer can most likely beat any price out there.

I hired Mr. Baumer to install...

I hired Mr. Baumer to install a new furnace in my house. The old furnace was old and it was getting hard to find parts to service it. Mr. Baumer was referred to me by a friend.

Mr. Baumer came out in the afternoon and determined what he needed to do the job. The next day he installed the furnace. The new furnace was shorter than the old one and he had to fabricate sheet metal parts to make the furnace fit—very professional work. He was able to reuse all of the existing central air components, which saved me money. Before he finished, he tested the systems to make sure everything worked properly. He was professional, knowledgeable, and provided me with many tips to make sure the furnace lasts as long as the old one did.

I felt comfortable having Mr. Baumer working in my house. He worked diligently and finished the job in one day. I would not hesitate to call him if the systems (furnace or central air) needed further service.

Fast and efficient. Our heater went out on one of the first very, very cold days of the year. Mr. Baumer was able to come over the same day and get us taken care fast. We haven't had any issues since, but if we ever do, I know who to call!

Our hot water tank went out on the coldest day of the year (-14 degrees). I gave Chuck a call and the very next day he and his son were here installing a new one. They did a great job and are very easy to work with. They explained what happened to our old tank and explained the installation process for our new one. I would recommend Chuck for any heating and cooling needs. Thanks for getting us hot water again!!

I went with Chuck Baumer Heating and Cooling because they gave me the lowest bid for my new furnace installation. They got the job done right away and everything works great. Chuck seemed very knowledgeable and trustworthy. I would call him again if I need more work.

I'm really disappointed to write this review because I had really liked Chuck.

Without getting into a long story with LOTS of details, the basics are that I bought a house and the fact that the A/C unit was not working or even completely wired into the house from outside was missed during the inspection. When I attempted to use the air for the first time I wasn't aware of this and called Chuck because of the excellent reviews I read here. He stopped and quickly determined the problem. After that point though, it was like pulling teeth to get him to return calls to me or actually take the job. Of course now, in hindsight, I realize he just wasn't interested and I should have called someone who was, but at the time I didn't recognize that and he would beat around the bush without ever saying he didn’t want the job. Had he even made up an excuse and said he was too busy or something, I would have had to call someone else. Anyways, the only time I didn't have to be the one to call him or be pushy about getting the work done was once he told me the entire unit had to be replaced and quoted me approximately $2600-$2800 to do it; then he was at my house bright and early and got everything done in a day. The day of, when he was looking at my thermostat, he told me he wasn't familiar with the type and asked if I had the owner’s manual. I did have it but in all paperwork I had everywhere after closing and moving, I couldn't put my hands on it. I started going through everything while he was there but he told me to never mind, he would either figure it out or he knew where he could find out what he needed to know.

As I said, the job was done in one day, which was a day ahead of his estimate. I got home from work that evening and he had his son helping him, and they were just waiting for an electrician friend of his to double check some wiring before he started everything up. His friend came, gave the go ahead and we had air. I thanked him profusely, paid him $2800 and all was well.

Now, two months later, we've started to have cool weather and one morning I turned the furnace on to take the chill off the house. When the furnace started though, so did the a/c unit outside. I went outside and sure enough, both the furnace and the a/c were running together. I had warm air, but both running simultaneously. I called Chuck the next day and told him, and he started with his "Oh, gee, let me think about this....". "Did I do your thermostat?" Finally, "I know, just turn off the breaker that the a/c is on, and that will stop it from running." I was momentarily speechless. I asked him if this was standard operating procedure (knowing it's NOT) and he said "No, they shouldn't both run, but let me think here...". He hemmed and hawed again for a minute and finally said he'd think about it and get back to me. One more time, I asked him if he was saying that this was how I needed to operate the furnace and a/c now, by turning the breaker on and off if I only wanted the furnace to run, and he said yes.

Something is clearly not wired correctly. I would expect a licensed HVAC person to be able to handle pretty much any thermostat he encounters, or at least know how to find out how to handle them, but he also had a supposed electrician look at it. However, he made no attempt to solve the problem and didn't even pretend to be concerned or interested. Also, I just remembered that there was something that wasn't operating on the unit according to manufacturer's specification; I don't remember what it was, but he said he was going to call tech support for the answer. I'd be willing to bet quite a lot that that never happened or was even a second thought once he left that day.

It's very unfortunate, but Mr. Baumer either doesn't warranty his work or he just doesn't care about the job he does.

We recently had Mr. Baumer and his son update our furnace and install central air. Within days of receiving the estimate, Chuck and his son delivered the new furnace and began installation. They did a very professional job and stuck to their estimate. I would recommend them for any of your heating and cooling needs.

Started a Do It Self Project to replace outside faucet, I broke off a pipe so called Mr Baumer on a Saturday afternoon. Him and his Son showed about in about 90 minutes and repaired the problem in a timely and professional matter. Will not hesitate to call them again for future needs.
