Interventional Spine Medicine

During the summer of 2013 I suffered a minor injury to my lower back. The next day I was unable to walk, I went to the hospital and after a two day stay I was told there was nothing wrong in spite of the fact that I could not walk and was in severe pain. They sent me home and for a year I fought through a number of doctors and pain clinics trying to get help. I got a lot of narcotics, but no answers and the pain kept getting worse. A year to the day of my injury I saw Dr. Sanchez. He was kind, reassuring, and promised answers. After a series of tests and exams, getting me off the narcotics and on to some more effective medications I got my diagnosis. I got a treatment plan, and above all I got compassion. Each time I go to ISM and see Dr. Sanchez and his staff I know I am in good hands, I know it's safe to have what I have and that they will all help me manage it, and with all the research I've done ISM is one of a very few places in the US where you can get this kind of treatment. I read the review below, and from my years of experience with ISM I find her comment very hard to believe.

I recently moved to the area and switched to a closer doctor for my chronic back pain. Interventional Spine Medicine decided a spinal epidural steroid injection would help. Well it made things worse, which can happen, however my real concern is that I was unable to reach anyone in the office. I spoke with a triage nurse who assured me I would be called back quickly. Instead of receiving a call back I called them only to find triage had closed. I spent the next day trying to reach them with the help of my PCP (who was extremely angry with IS M'S patient practices) to no avail. Ultimately I ended up in the hospital. Funny thing is about 2 minutes after I called the office today to cancel my next appointment, triage returned my call. Interesting. I will definitely be finding a new doctor.
