The gradual onset of health problems in an animal that seems healthy often goes unnoticed. Once symptoms appear, the condition may be more difficult or costly to diagnose. At least once and perhaps twice a year, your pet needs a complete physical examination. Remember, your pet's life span is shorter than a person. A lot can happen in 12 months. Today, many immunizations and preventive treatments are available for your pet. With the advancement of Sentinel and Frontline, fleas and ticks are no longer the nuisance they once were for your pet. Heartworm testing, parasite checks and routine blood screens are all useful tools to keeping your pet healthy. The Doctors and staff at Doc Side will help you decide what preventive measures are right for your pet to keep them healthy and happy.

My wife makes me drive an hour...

My wife makes me drive an hour to Baltimore to take our pets to Dr. Klimentidis. We live in Westminster and there are no shortages of vets here. My wife says that Dr. Klimentidis is the best vet she has ever gone to and she should know because she has worked at different animal hospitals. Of course I moan and complain about having to go an hour away to take all of our many pets, BUT in the end, I know that it is worth it because Dr. Klimentidis IS the best! She is both caring and technically excellent. She checks everything and communicates any problems to us. She takes time from her personal life to check on the well-being of our beloved pets. When something is beyond her scope, she recommends specialists who have been excellent. When we didn't know what was wrong with one of our cats and no other vet could help, Dr Klimentidis properly diagnosed cancer. She did this because she knows what she is doing and knew what to look for. This probably gave us an extra 3 years with our cat, Mariah, because we were able to treat it aggressively. Dr Klimentidis cannot, however, take the place of pet parents. She can only recommend and guide people to do what she suggests. If people do not take her advice, then she cannot be held responsible. So as one of the best vets in the state, I have recommended numerous people to her and will continue to do so.

A friend recommended Doc Side ...

A friend recommended Doc Side vets when my dog started limping. I had been to other vets but didn't really feel comfortable. I'm so glad that I followed her advice.

Sadly, my dog was diagnosed with bone cancer. Dr. Klimentidis was so kind in breaking the news to me. She talked with me on the phone for hours from her home over the weekend after diagnosis. With all the decisions I had to make, she assured me that she would help me with any decision I chose to make, and that she would not let me make a bad decision. It was such a relief to know that whatever I chose to do, she would help.

In the next week, Dr. Klimentidis arranged surgery for my dog at a time that was convenient to my schedule. She consulted with other doctors nationwide to be sure that her diagnosis and treatment were the best. I chose not to do chemo (the data doesn't really support it) and even though most dogs only live about 6 months after diagnosis, he is alive and kicking 8 months after. He pulls me around the neighborhood and even into Doc Side medical center. He loves everyone there and has no bad memories or nervousness about going to the docs.

Thank you Doc Side for giving us the loving and effective care that my dog...and I...needed!

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETs HERE- TH...

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETs HERE- THEY WILL MURDER them! My two cats, brothers, were mis-diagnosed and because of that I lost my Sammy (properly diagnosed @Metropolitan Cat Hospital in Owings Mills, MD) in November due to chronic fluids in the lungs which caused cardiac arrest, and renal failure in my Magic ( properly diagnosed @/he is in ICU at Companion Animal Hospital, Phoenix, MD); I was told that if both of my cats had been properly diagnosed earlier their prognosis would not have been so acutely fatal. I PAID TWICE AS MUCH MONEY TO THIS VET AS I DID/AM AT THE TWO other abovementioned vets and now because of said incompetence, I am losing my second baby, Magic. ALSO, after taking Sammy frequently, every couple weeks his last few months, the doctor never called to follow up to see if he was okay? She obviously is empathetic and didn't even care STILL to find if he’s alive....the same re: Magic. A vet should love animals and be knowledgeable in caring for animals- Dr. Klimentidus-Docside- lacks aforementioned. I am crying.....If you want to save your pets' lives, and pay less in doing so- go to Companion Animal Hospital or Metropolitan Cat Hospital (both are Veterinarians and Pet ER)-Please!
