Established in 2003, Camp Spring Creek helps the dyslexic children to become better readers, spellers, writers, discover their creative talents, gain self confidence and independence. Based in Bakersville, N.C., the camp is spread over an area of 70-acres with facilities, such as a main lodge, dining hall, art barn, woodshop, swimming pool, campers cabins, climbing wall and two zip lines. It offers Orton-Gillingham language tutorial, keyboarding and written expression that includes applications, such as word processing, PowerPoint, garage band supervised oral reading and math/remediation. Camp Spring Creek accredited by the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators.
