Kim Phung Restaraunt

Ordered online - I showed up 25 minutes after order to grab it but... They didn't even process it online yet. In fact, they weren't even aware of it until I mentioned it. No comp on an app or anything - I worked for almost 10 years in food industry and no half decent manager I've ever known would've asked for someone to pay full price after that. Food is decent but don't count on ordering online.

I'm assuming the people who reviewed this restaurant positively are either not that well exposed to Vietnamese food or they're getting super lucky every time they go there. I don't know one Vietnamese person who eats there and for good reason. Every time I've been there, the place is filthy, the service is indifferent (which isn't unusual in an Asian restaurant), and the food is awful. I'll eat in a dive if it's worth my while, but there's nothing attractive about this place. One time, a friend of mine found a worm in her pho and we called the waitress over to point it out to her. She looked at it, snorted, took the bowl to the back, and came back with what was supposedly another bowl. She never said one thing, not one word of apology, nothing.

kim phung restaurant has the best noodles in austin. not the pho, the bun. personally, i love number 42. their other food is great too, but the bun is my fave!
