Overall

the previous poster sounds like a bitter, disgruntled person. My experience with Mike at JB Goodwin Realtors tells me that the previous poster was actually quite a bit more gernerous and had a more positive experience than I did. The agent I had, was condescending, rude, and extremely difficult to work with - I don't work for JB Goodwin - they are supposed to work for me. When it came time to sign the lease- there were several spelling errors and I was told "just sign it - ok?". Time came to transfer utilities - I lived out of the area and unfamiliar about which utility companies I needed to contact - I was given a fax line, and an emergency phone number (could have been heavily fined if I called that more than once on a false basis). When I pointed it out to Mike - I was told "google it". lack of service - is an understatement. Would not use them again if they were the last realtor in the state!

I retained JB Goodwin via an I...

I retained JB Goodwin via an Internet search and Cynthia was assigned as my agent. I asked specifically for Avery Ranch because I did not want to live in Cedar Park or more north, due to paying tolls. Cynthia put me on an automated email update that included CP/Leander areas and I emailed her advising her of this but evidently she did not stop the automated emails of properties that didn't interest me. oh well.



fast forward to 30 days until i needed a new place to live. Cynthia said I couldn't really seriously look for 15 more days. on 6/15 I asked her to email me a rental application (4 pages) so I could get started on it. she said at 9 am via email off her iPhone that she would get it to me later that day. later in the afternoon I emailed her again asking for it. no answer. I know all her emails go to her iPhone....





I then call my friend at Turnquist Partners and he said that he can have an agent on this rental immediately. I said I'd give Cynthia until 5 pm to get me the rental application or contact me. at 3:30 pm I email her and her office manager stating they have until 5 pm to get me the application or call me or I'm going to work with another realtor. well they call me at 3:37 pm finally. nobody gives me any reply until i tell them i am going to find another realtor.



as I was busy at the time Cynthia called, I called her back in an hour. she makes excuses for not sending me the application because (1) she was busy showing properties to other clients and (2) there was no exigency to get it started anyway. at no time did she apologize for not doing what she said she would do. that is what made me upset, that she would take ownership of her error and refused to admit she had simply dropped the ball. i had to remind her that she could have called her office and had someone there fax it or email it to me. evidently that was not an option or it slipped her mind that she has an office staff to do easy things like this.



at this time her manager Leslie called me and I told her to hold on so I could conference her in and we could all talk. at that point Cynthia disconnected and refused to answer.



I told Leslie that Cynthia has until 6 pm today to contact me, as she found it convenient simply to hang up and not pick up the phone when her client calls, or I would retain another company. Leslie said she would call Cynthia. 5 minutes later Leslie calls me back and says some other guy in the office will be handling my account now.



I told Leslie I felt that the realtors office was treating me like I was in the wrong when in fact the one who was clearly in the wrong for not doing something very simple and fulfill her word was Cynthia. if this is how they treat me before they get my money, imagine how bad it will be once i sign a lease and/or they get my money.



I told Leslie that I would have to sleep on it and decide tomorrow whether or not to keep them or go to another company. Leslie just laughed in my face. evidently this was funny for her, which was the last straw.



the only thing they did was make it easy for me to decide to fire them after they thought it was professional to laugh at me in my face. what a bunch of unprofessional people. i guess they get their rocks off making little guys like me wonder how they are going to handle finding me a place to live when they are too busy to send an email or a fax.
