Alternative Learning Center, established in 1959, is located in Austin, Texas. The center offers classes in grades six through 12. It provides instruction and support to students in developing behavior and social skills around their environment. The center offers elective, vocational and industrial education to students with special needs. Its various subjects includes arts and humanities, business studies, science, mathematics and technology, social services and technical. The institution provides free special health care, meal programs and nursing services to students. It also organizes various fund-raising cultural programs and activities. The center conducts various health screening tests for students with various diseases and disabilities. It additionally provides scholarship programs to students for attainting various higher educational and technical programs. The school is a division of Austin Independent School District.
