Main Street Thrift

Wow!! I stopped in this adorable shop on Friday after sitting on a tree stump covered in sap, needing a new pair of pants on the fly. I could've spent the better part of the day here. Despite being smaller then your average Goodwill, ect, the selection here is still fantastic. No crap, everything is in great condition. The prices are fantastic, I'd say 30-50% less than Goodwill type thrift stores. The best part is the genuinely down to earth owner, and I'm kicking myself for not having asked her for her name. It was just the two of us in there for a bit, and not only did I enjoy chatting with her, she was extremely helpful without in any way being pushy or overbearing. She has owned this shop for 10 years, and it became obvious really fast why she has managed to remain a thriving business in this community. I will definitely be back to see her, and will shop here FIRST when I'm in need of a thrift store, and will likely stop in to browse even when I'm not, since I can be sure to find something I will love that will fit within even my tightest of budgets. I got 2 pairs of Leggings, (one Juicy Coture) , and two pairs of jeans, (DKNY and 7 for All Man Kind) and an adorable blouse, ALL FOR $20! I don't know how she can keep her prices as low as she does, but Im definitely not complaining! If you're a fan of supporting local small businesses, you'll be sure to want to stop in this treasure of a shop. Street parking on the side road as well as a small lot makes it a quick jaunt to the door. She admitted her hours can vary a bit due to her exclusive hands on management / main employee situation, but thats probably how she can keep her prices so low so again, no complaints. If you are traveling any distance to get to Auburn, it would be advisable to call ahead to confirm she is open to avoid wasting a trip and being disappointed. I was there 4pm on a Friday and found it to be a fabulous time to stop in. Enjoy and Happy Treasure Hunting!
