I worked for this guy!! Totally unprofessional!! He shouldn’t be dealing with the public!! Always yelling and swearing at his customers and help. I never brought family or friends in to purchase a car!! Embarrassing!!!!

Overall

I purchased 2 vehicles from Mike Perro and I am about to purchase my 3rd; Mike has always been fair and honest with me. When I called him due to 2 very MINOR issues with one vehicle he had me bring it back and they fixed it while I waited. The last car that I bought from Perro's 6 years ago (which I am about to replace) has $196,000 miles on it and still drives like a charm! The one before that I traded with 140,000 miles. It is unfortunate that these reviewers had an unpleasant experience with Perro's because I have never had anything but a positive one. I live in Rhode Island and I wouldn't buy a used car anywhere else!

Overall

Mike Perro witheld information about the car he sold me back in 2010. I learned 2.5 years later while trying to trade the Explorer in that it had "Frame Damage." The information was disclosed at the auction in NY which he did admit he bought the car from, but he NEVER disclosed that information to me. I paid full asking price on a car that I never would have bought had I known of the prior damage... so I took a loss there and I took another loss when trading it in because of the "frame damage." I called Mike Perro and he said he would "make it right," but when I went to meet with him to show him the information proving he knew of the "frame damage" he verbally attacked me defending he "did not know of the damage" he even used profanities in his rant right in front of my four year old son who was standing by my side. The only thing I learned about Mike Perro in his office the other day was that he lacks morals and character, and he lied and got caught. He did nothing to make it right! Please do not shop for a car at Perro Auto... he lies and does not stand behind what he sells.

Dont Go Here

Five months ago, I bought a vehicle from Perro's. It had a 30 day warranty. After driving it for a week or so, the alternator seized up and ruined the serpentine belt. Perro's agreed to replace the alternator but refused to change the belt, which wasn't broken, but it was badly burned and cracked from the friction of the alternator. They had the car in their shop for about four days! After getting it back, I had the vehicle inspected. It FAILED due to headlight, ball joint, steering and a couple other little issues. I brought it back to Perro's. They had the car for about a week and said they made all the repairs. It re-inspected successfully. Yesterday, my wife was about to get on Rt 146 when the ball joint that they had worked on, let go and the wheel fell off. I had the car towed to a repair shop (not Perro's) and was told that the wheel hub assembly, axle and wheel bearing were all badly damaged when the wheel fell off. Obviously the broken ball joints also need to be replaced. Had this happened on the highway, she could have involved in a very serious accident. It will cost a minimum of $1200.00 to make the repairs. I feel that Perro's sales is sleazy and their mechanics are incompetent. I won't bring the car to them for repair and after five months I doubt they're obligated to cover any of the damages to my car anyway, but I CAN discourage anyone in the market for a used car from doing business with them. Hopefully this review turns atleast a few prospective customers away from Perro's.

We at Perro's Auto truly regret any inconvenience that any of our customers might experience and have always stood behind our vehicles 100% and will continue to do so for many years to come. Perro's Auto has been in the business of matching great people with solid pre-owned vehicles since 1965. No business that has lasted and grown for 45 years, could have done so if the experience that this customer is portraying is common place. We are proud of the fact that we have had many cases of second and third generations that not only purchase their cars from us but also get them serviced by our outstanding service department. We were surprised and saddened to see such a scathing review of our integrity. We have always relied on the support and the recommendations of our customers to their friends and families for our continued success. We cherish these connections and do everything in our power to maintain and grow these relationships both on a business and personal level. We understand that not every customer who is looking to upgrade their vehicle can afford the top price range, so we have always gone to great lengths to provide affordable upgrades in a wide variety of price ranges. This business model has been the corner stone of what has made us so successful. We are able to do this by making sure that we always maintain a certain level of inventory of good vehicles with high mileage. In this case the vehicle in question had close to 90,000 miles. As with all our pre-owned vehicles we recommended a “well rounded extended warranty package” that would have covered this type of unforeseen issue. Unfortunately in this particular case the client declined the offer. This particular vehicle as with many of our vehicles was purchased at Perro’s Auto and then traded in for their next purchase at Perro‘s Auto. We are meticulous in keeping proper service history’s on all of our vehicles and this allowed us to have a solid service records dating back some 6 years. This history was one of primary reasons we were confident in reselling this vehicle. Nothing in our records indicated that we at Perro’s have performed any major work in our around the indicated problem area. Certainly nothing that would have resulted in the breakdown indicated. Any and all worked that we gladly performed on this vehicle post purchase came at no cost to this customer and in fact this client returned to Perro‘s during the time period indicated to have a windshield replaced. There lies the surprise. Even though we feel that the complaints lodged against us and the verbiage and tone in which they were given are untrue and unfounded our hearts truly go out to them. I am confident in saying that if we were given the opportunity after the incident to support this customer their experience and their feelings would have been a positive one. Yours Truly, John Perro Perro's Auto Service Manager
