Fillings
Gold fillings, also called inlays or onlays, are made of an alloy of gold, copper, and other metals. This type of dental filling is usually considered the most durable, lasting 20 years or more. Gold fillings also require more than one office visit to place because they require impressions manufactured at a dental laboratory.
Resin Composite
Composite resins, or tooth-colored fillings, provide good durability and resistance to fractures in small to midsize fillings that need to withstand moderate pressure from the constant stress of chewing. They can be used on either front or back teeth. They are a good choice for people who prefer their fillings to look more natural.

Crowns
Dental emergencies can be daunting and nerve-racking — whether it’s a cracked tooth, loose crown, or a knocked-out tooth. Not all dental emergencies are equally urgent, though. Some require immediate treatment, while others can wait. It’s important that you understand the differences if something happens on the weekend or after normal dental office hours.
Bridges
A dental implant is a metal post that functions as a replacement tooth root. Once your dentist places the implant in the bone of the jaw, new bone forms around the implant to firmly hold it in place. Implants can also support dental restorations like crowns and bridges, just like regular teeth. They can even support full or partial dentures and give them more stability in the mouth.
Dental Bonding

Root Canal Treatment
Root canal treatment is necessary when the pulp (soft tissue inside your teeth containing blood vessels, nerves, and connective tissue) becomes inflamed or diseased. Root canals are a relatively simple procedure that cause little to no discomfort, and they require only one to three visits to the dentist’s office. Great Expressions dentists use the latest techniques and technology during root canal treatment to ensure that your experience is as painless as possible, with continuing education to keep you informed.
Apicoectomy
Your dentist or endodontist (a dentist who specializes in treating the insides of teeth) will remove the diseased pulp, and then the pulp chamber and root canal(s) of the tooth are cleaned and sealed. If the infected pulp is not removed, pain and swelling can result, and you may need an apicoectomy. In cases where the tooth experiences continuing issues and healing does occur, your tooth may have to be removed.

Deep Cleaning
Periodontal disease (commonly referred to as gum disease) is a bacterial infection of the gums and bone that, if not treated, can cause you to lose your teeth. For periodontal disease treatment, we have many dedicated periodontal doctors (or periodontists) who specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of periodontal disease and other conditions. The most common periodontal services consist of scaling and root planing (“deep cleaning”), crown lengthening, and dental implants.

Dental Implants
Dentists place implants as anchors for artificial teeth. You would choose to have one placed if you had a tooth removed and wanted it replaced. When you want to have an artificial tooth replace a missing one, ask your dentist about dental implants.
