Established in 1822, Athens State University is one of the oldest institutions of higher education in Alabama s state educational system. Located in Athens, Ala., it offers a wide variety of college, such as College of Business, College of Education as well as College of Arts and Sciences which specializes in providing various subjects. Additionally Athens State University offers online degree programs, distance learning policy and online catalog. It conducts academic programs as well as international programs. Athens State University is a founding member of the Alabama Council for International Programs, an in-state organization of universities and colleges, which promotes international programs.
