Goodwill Stores

A friend and myself stopped in the store last week. She had picked out a small pirate hat that she wanted for her puppies halloween costume. It was not marked. I found 2 unused xmas gold garland that I as going to use outside. It was mashed but good enough and had a 10 cent label on each package. When we had checked out the clerk said $1.00 for the hat. When I checked out she said $1.00 (plus tax) I said how much was the garland, she said 49 cents and turned it over to show 'the goodwill label'. I said "I"m not spending 50 cents for that garbage, I don't want them. After we left the store we discussed what happened. My friend thought $1 was too much, but she paid it, she didn't want to argue. We felt that the clerk should have sold me the garland for 20 cents as it was marked. The young clerk said 'someone forgot to take off the label'. Oops.!!! As in any store when an item is missmarked, the customer is right and the store takes the loss. With this experience, we won't be going back to this place of business, even though it's suppose to help the community.
