Rose Ann's Snips & Clips

I HIGHLY recommend Rose Ann's Snips & Clips for long-haired cat grooming (as sweet & loving as my boy is, he will only let mom do so much grooming). He's always good for Rose Ann, comes home minus a ton of old fur, and smelling only fresh, not perfumey, which is also important to the both of us. We just got home from another much-needed visit (shedding season really got ahead of me this time), and my boy looks SO much better! I'm sure he feels better, too. He's calm as can be when we get home, as well. Yup - I'd recommend Rose Ann's to anyone. Jan

Avoid! It took a while but we figured it out - this place is awful. I don't know exactly what goes on in the back, but our dog hated going there, he started flipping out and whining when we pulled in the parking lot, he shook when he saw the woman, and he's paranoid about getting his nails clipped by anyone STILL to this day. Half the time it wasn't the correct cut, a few times there were some small nicks on him, and there was always at least 1 toenail cut to the quick. It would take at least half an hour to calm him after he went there. We just thought he didn't like getting haircuts, and now he's basically scarred for life because we took him there for quite a few unfortunate visits. We had to cut his hair at home (badly - ha,ha) until he wasn't so nervous, and go to the vet to get his nails clipped. They continue to have to muzzle him for his nails, which is hard to watch, but they let me go back and hold/pet him to keep him calm. At least I know he's not being tortured or handled rough. Hopefully he will trust again. He was eventually able to go to his new groomer and she said he did fine even on his first visit. He was a little unhappy about getting the hair on his feet trimmed, but she was able to do it and now he gets better every time he goes and he still absolutely loves her. We just call her "Nana" and never have any problems with either of them. Needless to say, taking him to Rose Ann's was a HUGE MISTAKE on our part. After going to pretty much anywhere in town and seeing how happy everyone is to see him, pet him, give him treats, call him by name (he's practically famous at our fave fast food joint), and look at pictures of him, meet him on the sidewalk. . . etc, it's very plain to see who is a dog lover and who isn't. Back to Rose Ann's Snips & Clips . . . Aside from our youngest child thinking that this woman is somehow related to Cruella DeVille, the other semi-amusing thing was that we could always tell how well or how badly he behaved by the price. It's supposed to be a set fee, but apparently it's on a sliding attitude scale. The not so amusing part- we usually paid extra and it kept gradually going up. Please for the sake of your pet, take them somewhere else. Now that we've had this experience, we hear the same complaints about Rose Ann's handling the dogs a bit too rough, everywhere we go. To bad we didn't know sooner. It would have been nice to pay the same price every time, have my dog come out in at least a decent mood, and clue us in if there was a behavioral problem. It could be as simple as he didn't like her or she just didn't like him. There's plenty of other groomers in this town. Don't take it out on the dog! To Rose Ann's Snips & Clips - Keep your lines of communication open and let people know what's going on with their pet and at least "act" like you like your job and the pets you service. Anything would be an improvement on our horrific experiences.
