Kritter Kare Boarding Kennel

I'm sure for a week or shorter, taking your pet here would be fine. The ladies are nice and I wish them the best. However, due to a house fire, I had to have our dogs kenneled for many weeks. Around three weeks in my lab had gone from 68lbs (Kritter Kare's measurement at beginning of stay) to 48lbs (Vet's measurement at end of stay). No one had notified me. I removed both dogs and placed them at Caroline's pet motel (http://www.carolinespamperedpetmotel.com/) immediately, where they flourished. Those are the plain and simple facts. The kennel stated the dogs contracted worms, were stressed, etc. I'm not really sure how that is supposed to explain a 20lb weight loss without notification of the owner (my beagle lost at least 7lbs) I was shocked and heartbroken when I saw my dogs. However, I am not one to complain and I'm surely not one to have a rant on the internet by any means, but when I picked up the dogs so abruptly, I had already paid 13 days in advance. That should've been over $300 I would've received back. However, the owner refused and only gave me $120 explaining that I was "lucky" to get that. When I explained I felt the dogs had been neglected I only got defense, refusal, and denial. Eventually this turned to admitting they hadn't noticed the weight loss of 20lbs and thus hadn't informed me. This whole situation just makes me very sad. I don't think Kritter Kare was being intentional in what I consider to be negligence and everybody has different experiences I'm sure. I personally won't be returning, to say the least. And I surely wouldn't recommend. Again, I'm very sad that any of this happened and I hate to leave a bad review, but it wouldn't feel right to say I didn't try to warn other dog owners.
