        Founded in 1924, Army Navy Country Club is a private, member-owned recreation facility. The club focuses on promoting social intercourse among those citizens, military and civilians, who are bound together to serve the interests and efficiency of the national defense. It draws its membership primarily from active duty and retired commissioned U.S. military officers, ranging in rank from second lieutenant and ensign to general and Admiral, as well as various civilian members. The club offers 500 acres of rolling, wooded, landscape facility that houses golf course with 54-championship holes, more than six swimming pools, a fitness center, and golf and tennis pro shops. It additionally provides dining facilities offering a wide variety of cuisines, serving dinner for two, as well as catering an event for several hundred people. It is located in Arlington, Va.
