        Donna Nickerson Care Philosophy Solution-focused brief therapySolution-focused brief therapy - also known as solution-focused therapy - is an approach to psychotherapy based on solution-building rather than problem-solving. Although it acknowledges present problems and past causes, it predominantly explores an individual's current resources and future hopes - helping them to look forward and use their own strengths to achieve their goals. As its name suggests, solution-focused brief therapy is considered a time-limited approach, however the technique is often incorporated into other long-term therapy types and effects can be long-lasting. These are: Change is both constant and certain. Emphasis on what is changeable and possible. Clients must want to change. Clients are the experts and outline their own goals. Clients have resources and their own strengths to solve and overcome their problems. Therapy is short-term. Focus on the future - history is not essential. Donna currently practices as a psychotherapist in the Dallas/FortWorth and Waco Area. Donna is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a PhD in Psychology.

        The best therapist ever.

        Dr. Nickerson helped me so much with managing my stress and anxiety. I have been to several therapists in the central Texas area in the past but she has been the best by far! She is understanding but firm at the same time. She will help you get the results you want. She is extremely smart and good at what she does. Highly recommended!

        Dr. Nickerson is Excellent

        I am so thankful that Dr. Nickerson has come to the Waco/Central Texas area. She is extremely great at what she does as a psychotherapist/psychologist. Our family loves her. She is highly recommended.

        Dr. Nickerson is the best!

        Dr. Nickerson is a great therapist and I would recommend her to anyone. She is extremely smart and great at helping people. Not only has she helped me, but she has helped so many people that I know. She is so easy to talk to and you will get a lot out of her sessions with you.

        She has several office locations and also provides sessions via video. Donna helps a lot of people in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, out of state and out of country with their therapy needs. Dr. Nickerson is wonderful!
