Fillings
Veneers
Veneers are thin shells of porcelain that are made to cover up a patient's tooth. The veneer is cemented onto the tooth after the tooth has been prepped. Preparation for veneers involves some minor filing of the tooth's enamel in order to allow it to fit tightly and properly to the existing natural tooth. Veneers look natural and provide a great option when an individual wants to achieve a beautiful smile without looking as though they have had extensive restorations done. In as little as two appointments, porcelain veneers can be made and placed for our patients. They will often last approximately ten years or longer with the proper care and maintenance.
Crowns
Dr. Port is a member of the Crown Council, a group of dentists dedicated to improving the lives of children through their sponsorship of Smiles for Life, an organization that has raised millions dollars for various health related children's charities.
Bridges
One service that Dr. Port can provide for his patients is the installation of crowns and bridges. One of the nice things about crowns and bridges is that they help in situations where patients have teeth that are badly broken down or in danger of cracking. A lot of individuals have teeth with large fillings that have been there for years, but are experiencing cracking around the filling, or their tooth is showing a lot of wear and tear. A crown will help protect the tooth and prevent it from experiencing additional damage. Crowns cover the chewing surface of the tooth and can come down around the sides as well, providing protection and reinforcement. Many of our crowns are made in office with computer design using a CEREC device, which allows us to quickly and easily restore a patient's smile, making it look as though dental work had never been done on their teeth.
Restorative Dentistry
In 2000, Dr. Port pursued training in cosmetic and aesthetic dentistry from the internationally renowned Nash Institute in Charlotte, NC. He later became a clinical instructor at the Nash Institute and spent a year working side-by-side with Dr. Ross Nash and Dr. Robert Lowe, widely recognized as innovators in cosmetic and restorative dentistry.

Root Canal Treatment
Dr. Port and his staff also offer tooth extractions and root canals, as well as the installation of dental implants and crowns to help protect teeth that have been worked on, or to create a natural-looking restoration for a missing tooth. Bridges are also available for masking the loss of a natural tooth, as well as partial dentures.

Dental Implants
Most patients with sufficient bone are proper candidates for dental implants. They are highly desirable for patients who want a permanent, no-fuss way of replacing lost teeth. These restorations are commonly known for lasting a lifetime with regular dental visits and proper hygiene.

Tooth Extractions
In our office, we complete a broad range of treatments for our patients. We are able to offer everything from cleanings, denture care and creation, crowns and bridges, sleep apnea appliances, teeth whitening, tooth extractions, root canals, and other cosmetic and non-cosmetic procedures under one roof.

Orthodontics
Many people enjoy using Six Month Smiles because they are difficult to notice in a smile, and because patients can improve their smile in less than a year. In approximately six months, patients can have a better-looking smile for their wedding or reunion at an affordable rate. Traditional orthodontics not only takes longer, but also can be less attractive on a patient's smile. With Six Month Smiles, you can receive your treatment without feeling self-conscious about the way you look.
Invisalign Orthodontics
Invisalign has been around for over ten years, and is a proven and effective system for straightening teeth. Invisalign uses a series of clear plastic trays that the patient slips over their teeth and wears when they are not eating or cleaning their teeth. These trays gently push on the patient's teeth to guide them into their new positions. A typical Invisalign treatment uses a series of anywhere from 18 to 30 trays, which are switched out approximately every two weeks. Typical treatment with Invisalign can take anywhere from twelve to eighteen months from start to completion, depending on the severity of the misalignment.
Braces
One option that is offered in our office is referred to as our adult cosmetic braces system, Six Month Smiles. Six Month Smiles uses what might be considered traditional braces, but it has a new twist on it. Instead of unsightly metal brackets glued to the teeth, Six Month Smiles uses plastic brackets, and instead of dark metal wires, it uses tooth-colored wires to move the teeth gently into their new positions. Because each tooth is attached to its own braces bracket, it allows us to make more fine-tuned movements in the teeth and get our patients a new, straighter smile in a quicker fashion.

Teeth Whitening
Teeth whitening is an extremely popular cosmetic procedure offered by Dr. Port and his staff. In our office, we offer several different forms of teeth whitening. Each available form of teeth whitening will help whiten your teeth effectively, but have different degrees of strength and completion times.
Cosmetic Dentistry
One of the neat things about cosmetic dentistry, or "aesthetic dentistry," is that we can take care of a patient's individual, specific needs and do it in a way that looks really natural and beautiful. This makes our patients extremely excited about the results of their new smile. Whether we are covering up an old filling or other existing dental work that was done several years ago, or are making small changes and adjustments in their smile to improve the look, cosmetic dentistry is an important yet exciting profession for Dr. Port and his staff to offer to his patients.
